Romney releases new Memorial Day video

(CNN) - Ahead of Mitt Romney's Memorial Day appearance with Sen. John McCain in California Monday, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee released a new web video thanking military troops and veterans.

"A lot of young Americans are risking their lives in distant battlefields today," Romney said in a statement. "Memorial Day is a day to give thanks to them, and to remember all of America's soldiers who have laid down their lives to defend our country. As we enjoy our barbecues with friends and families and loved ones, let's keep them in our thoughts and in our prayers."

Romney will attend an event with McCain, who was held as a prisoner of war for more than five years in Vietnam, at the Veterans Museum and Memorial Center in San Diego, California.

"I am honored to be celebrating Memorial Day this year with John McCain. I don't have to tell John's story; the world already knows it. But it is what today's holiday is all about: sacrifice, valor, honor, courage, and love of country," Romney said.

do you think Michele Obama is finally PROUD of her country on this Memorial Day? After all, we sent her on 18 vacations with her whole entourage.

Ann Romney is just as proud of her new car elevator , And her five sons who avoided military service. I'm sure you will be proud flying them around the country on the tax payers dime.

In 2011, Ron Paul has the largest military support of all the candidates. Of all the GOP presidential candidates, Ron Paul received 90% of the donations from US active military – almost DOUBLE Obama's and more than NINE TIMES the amount of the other GOP candidates COMBINED!

It's nice to se a Presidential candidate of any stripe honor the troops. This is the first time that I can remember that neither candidate had military service in their background- Obama owing to his relative youth and Romney (and sons) no doubt due to his weath.
This Memorial Day, lets consider voting for the candidate who will be considerate of our men and women in uniform, and who will only deploy them as a last resort, and not as a normal course of politics.

The fact is that 2008 vets suppoted McCain and Palin. I mean Obama got a very very small vots from them. Why, because McCain was a POW and the old white guy. So, it would be hard to attempt to rearch this generation of vets.

Even if I see the poll as inaccurate or not telling. I feel that this is not a large swimg group that a Minority/Female Dem President would gain support from. Hell, I doubt a Rep Minority/Female President would gain support from this generation of vets. However, the next generation will be of more minorities.

Yeah, Mitt....."as you enjoy barbeque with family and friends", let's all think about the young men and women you want to involve in more wars if you get elected president. No thanks.
