Condoleezza Rice to endorse Romney

(CNN) - Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will endorse GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Wednesday, campaign sources told CNN. Rice also confirmed news of the endorsement.

Rice served as secretary of state from 2005-2009 under former President George W. Bush. Before that she was Bush's national security adviser.

Rice was the first African American woman to lead the State Department.

On Tuesday, Romney hit the "magic number" of Republican delegates necessary to win the GOP nomination this summer.

The utterly incompetent Condolezza Rice is endorsing Romney? Another reason to vote for Obama.

This is a big endorsement?? There is an R after Condi's name. They all will be in step with Mitt because they want to "take our country back".

NOT a surprise ! She did after all, lie about Iraq, telling us that the 'mushroom' cloud from the WMDs was coming- she is also the one who told Bush that Bin Laden wanted to attack America with jet liners but then never did anything to even try to prevent it – she should be investigated and tried along with her bosses Bush and Cheney.
She must want a job – how can anyone with intelligence endorse Mitt Romney? He is totally inept at anything but raping other people's wealth.

Condolezza Rice has always been a party-line person – even when she was being manipulated by the evil twins Cheney and Rumsfeld. Maybe she's lining up for another job.

Now THERE is a fine Presidential or Vice Presidetial candidate. Condoleeza Rice is second to none. But I'm sure there is SOMEONE on the left who will find something wrong with an extremely intelligent, well educated, former Secretary of State.....who happens to be a black...woman.

  6. Condi is should be in Jail!

This lady should be in Jail for War Crimes along with W and Dick. R'money only offers a rehash of the Bush failed thinking and our country cannot afford more of that. FOUR MORE YEARS for OBAMA!

The national security advisor / secretary of state who failed to see the warnings of 9/11 is endorsing the 47th place governor in job creation. It can't get any better.

Struggling whether to commit to RoMoney this endorsement has made the choice clear. Obama/Biden 2012.

What a shock. I'd have sworn she'd have endorsed a democrat.

Condolezza wants a position in the R-money administration so she can feed again from the government trough.

Oh Condee.. are you still upset Obama let NATO bomb you're rat boyfriend Ka-Daffy out of his compound so his own country men could put a bullet in his dome?

Or did your old boss Bush give you a call and tell you who you had to endorse?

I hope Colin Powell does the right thing this year and endorses Obama just to neutralize your vote..

That's amazing! Ms. Rice should have a long chat with Colin Powell, who has declined to offer an endorsement as lately as yesterday while being interviewed on NPR by Diane Rheem. He graciously described it as a personal and private matter that he need not share. When she makes her statement, I'll be watching closely to hear her rational. If she simply states standard GOP talking points such as "smaller government",etc, I'll have no more respect for her. She's extremely articulate and should be able to demonstrate some original insight. Missing the opportunity to support this historic POTUS, knowing the messes he inherited and has handled with dignity and poise will not be soon forgotten. Lining up with the likes of Herman Cain will lower my respect for her eternally. I don't expect any better from Cain, but Rice is on a completely different (and higher) intellectual plane. We are definitely about to learn who she really is as a person of color. I can't wait to hear her logic.

I'm sorry. Is this supposed to be a big surprise? I'm sure Romney earned her endorsement based on his sterling foreign policy expertise, their common connections to Stanford University, or that she is interested in the Vice Presidency (based on her foreign policy expertise and convincing testimony that there were WMD's in Iraq).

$2 trillion dollars wasted in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The national security advisor that ignored the briefs that said "Bin Laden determined to attack the mainland using aircraft soon".

Then she was elevated to Secretary of State and was hated by most other heads of state.

But luckily, she DID have an oil tanker named after her. That's what Cheney's presidency was all about.

Does it seems so out of character that someone like Condolezza Rice would support or endorse Mitt Romney-especially after the Bush Administration/ Dick Chaney debacle? Really, Condolezza, you are willing, able, and capable of supporting any Joe for our President of the United States office? It appears to be something in it for her. Honestly, I am not a big Condolezza Rice fan though I respected her stance in spite of my disapproval of actions... I now feel she's just extremely ordinary- not to be confused with extraordinary. Her posturing at this time unashamedly appears phony and bought out... How can Condelezza explain her endorsement of Mitt Romney or what she particularly approves of by him and we "the people" and "media" cannot entirely? Heck, has he mentioned why he would be good for our country? Bains Capital? Is that it? When are we really going to get to know this candidate and his projections for our United States? I feel like we US citizens are being setup for another hoodwink? Media giants, including CNN are unable to bring home just how unqualified Mitt Romney is for the overall representation of our country. It is sad that Condelezza can be bought. It is even sadder that media is willing to withhold or produce pertinent (interview) details about a man that can very well effectively send our democracy into ruins... I do project that Mitt will surely destroy the future of America. The Supreme Courts may feel that it has protected the innocent from donating without prejudice or scrutiny; however, it has really made it overwhelming easy for the guilty to solicit without charge or conscience.

A Bush pet and apologist endorses the next would-be puppet president? Will she be making excuses for Mitt as he's manipulated towards war, like she did for Dubya? What a shameful club!

I always thought she had smarts and determination. I am really proud of this young lady. I realize she will get crucified by the Obamalots, so it takes a gutsy lady to make such decisions. I never thought I would be praising a Republican since I have been a life-long Democrat.

    Go figure...

I wonder what she is going to say to Mitt Romney. We presided over government which manufactured false
evidence to launch a war that cost lives and increased the national debt. She should remember Mitt Romney never
mentioned Bush by name on the campaign trail let alone Mrs. Rice who was Secretary of State.
