Pelosi: Hillary Clinton's 'our shot' in 2016

(CNN) – House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi kept the “Hillary Clinton for president in 2016” refrain alive in an interview published Sunday.

“Why wouldn’t she run? She’s a magnificent secretary of state,” Pelosi told the San Francisco Chronicle when asked about Clinton’s 2016 ambitions. “She’s our shot.”

The Democratic congresswoman and former House speaker similarly stoked the flames in April, describing the prospect as “so exciting.”

Clinton, the former first lady and New York senator, has consistently shot down speculation of a future political run, saying her current State Department post will be her last in public office. But her insistence has done little to quell the rumors.

Former President Clinton on Thursday left the door ajar to a 2016 run by his daughter, Chelsea, or wife, Hillary, saying, “we will just see.”

"Chelsea will be too young, I think, maybe not quite. Hillary says she's going to retire. We will just see. You know, I think she intends to come home and start doing a lot of the charitable work," Clinton said on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight." "She has worked so hard for 20 years, you know?"

    "She's our shot" – sounds like someone is already thinking about defeating the incumbent Republican in 2016.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Sounds to me like she's already thinking ahead to President Obama's successor. The right should start thinking now about a viable candidate for 2016.

    They are floating the Hillary balloons now-because many Democrats now realize that there is a very good chance that Obama is going to lose!! And, do not look for Hillary to "rescue" Obama by running as his VP. There is no way that Hillary will want to be connected to Obama/his policies/his failures/his divisiveness/polarization/hatred of him--and hope to run/win in 2016. Hillary will need the Independents to win--and the Independents are currently supporting Romney over Obama, by at "least" 10 points in all state/national polls.

    And, for those of you who keep bringing up Elizabeth Warren-she is not even going to win in Massachusetts. Over the last 3-4 days-the Boston Herald ran scathing articles that exposed Warren's lies/hypocrisy. It seems that Chief Tell'm Whoppers--made her fortune by buying foreclosed homes from the poor middle class citizens who lost the homes due to foreclosure-and has been turning around and selling them at a very high profit. She was even lending money to her family members-so that they could also buy foreclosed homes and turn around and sell them at very high profits.

    Regardless of what you think of Secretary Clinton personally, she would make an excellent chief executive for the country. She understands policy and how to maneuver through the bureaucracy about as well as anyone in the nation.

    Too bad the Dems railroaded her out of the nomination in 2008. She's be president now, we wouldn't be in the damn mess we're in now, and she would easily win re-election this year. Bet many of them are kicking themselves now. Seriously, Romney can win in November.......

    She should have challenged Obama in 2012. And if I was Hillary, I would distance myself from Pelosi. She is crazy. Otherwise, Hillary has my vote for sure.

    We don't need another lib/Dem in power...not now, not in 2016, not EVER! We need people who both understand business, capitalism, AND our Constitution and system of government...the way it SHOULD work. If we have people who understand all that in office, our system WILL work. It always has.

    If Hillary wants a chance in 2016, she needs to make sure Obama was voted out in 2012.

    Because if Obama managed to have a second term, which will make America in a worse situation (like the national debt in the 20+ trillions, unemployment rate is even higher than now, etc.), at that time voters will be so mad at the Dems that no Dem candidates can ever win in2016.

    All potential Dem candidates need to see this big picture ..

    First, Obama will win. Second Hillary will win in sixteen. The country will be better for it.
