O'Malley: Obama visit would have nationalized Wisconsin race

(CNN) – The Wisconsin recall election of Republican Gov. Scott Walker has garnered national political attention, but the chairman of the Democratic Governor Association said Tuesday that if President Barack Obama had visited the state, he would have brought the race to yet another level of national scrutiny.

The President did not visit Wisconsin to campaign on behalf of his fellow Democrat, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, in the recall election held Tuesday. DGA chairman Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley O'Malley made the remarks in an interview for CNN's "John King, USA."

Romney: I would sell GM stock

(CNN) – In an interview published Tuesday, Mitt Romney said as president he would sell the government's share of GM stock, even if that means cutting a loss.

The presumptive GOP presidential nominee accused the president of delaying the sale of the shares as part of a political ploy to avoid a taxpayer loss before Election Day in November.

(CNN) - The divisive issue of same-sex marriage in California may become another landmark case taken up by the U.S. Supreme Court after federal appeals court judges refused Tuesday to revisit an earlier ruling.

Recalling a governor is rare - trying to, not so much

Washington (CNN) - Many have tried, especially in California, but few have managed to successfully oust a U.S. governor through a recall election.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker faces that possibility Tuesday, due to Democratic outrage over steps last year by Walker and his Republican colleagues in the state legislature to weaken public unions.
