VIDEO: Romney reaches out to Latinos
(CNN) - Former Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez talked about his new role helping Mitt Romney reach Latino voters on Wednesday. Gutierrez was tapped to head the presumptive GOP presidential nominee's Hispanic Steering Committee, the Romney campaign announced earlier in the day.
"Hispanics have been political pawns to be used every time an election comes up," he said on CNN's "John King, USA." " We need to look holistically and strategically about immigration long-term because it’s going to become an economic and competitive issue."

Yes... Mitt will employ you, as a gardener, roofer and cabana boy. Probably pay you in cash (under the table) all while he demonizes you in public. He'll do so because you're cheaper, will do a good job AND keep your mouth shut because you don't want to be sent back. Just don't let anybody KNOW you're working for him.
Good luck mitt baby GOP is never going to land Hispanic votes as long as the tea party runs the republican party.

yes, we have been pawns for the republicans every time they want our votes! Very hypocritical from their part.. my fam & friends used to vote for Republicans, but finally they' ve understood Republicans don't care about us, "the mexican".. We do matter & come this November we, as a community will stand behind our president Barack Hussein Obama! Yes we can.. Si se puede!
Romney is reaching and Latinos are backing away. Most American/Legal Latinos know about all the repubs discrimination in the states. Whether it be Latines, women, students, gays, blacks, etc. Repubs, you can not discriminate against an American group for 4 year and expect them to vote for you in the General Election.
He needs some sort of out reach so he doesn't lose too badly in November.
Really? What was Willard doing, looking for a replacement gardener or housekeeper? All the pandering in the world isn't going to bring Latinos to Romney's side, never, not in a million years.
Romney likes Latinos... to clean his pool... to make his bed... to vote for him...
Then Romney can re-use his "I'm one of you" to latinos to see if it works any better the second time around. He can say he relates to Latinos because his grandfather crossed the border too... only the opposite direction.
Mitts hispanic reach out is playing a Run to the Border commercial from Taco Bell....
Romney's pitch to Latinos: Never mind what I said about immigration in the primary. I was just trying to appease the Tea Party people. Everyone, even the Tea Party people, knew that I did not mean it.
He can't reach out to latinos because his grandaddy moved to marry multiple women. His father was born in Mexico (and tried to run for president?) and he has never spoken about latinos except to make sure they are no longer cutting his lawn, for pete's sake, he's running for president.
BTW – does he speak Spanish? He is only one generation removed. I guess the hoi polloi are not like him.
