Romney to have day-long retreat with big donors

Salt Lake City, Utah (CNN) – It's an exclusive ticket: a day-long Utah retreat for high-dollar donors to huddle with Mitt Romney.

A senior Romney adviser tells CNN invitations have gone out for the retreat, which will take place later this month in the Deer Valley resort area of Park City where Romney used to own a home.

The Salt Lake Tribune first reported details about the event, which the campaign is calling the "First National Romney Victory Leadership Retreat." Romney's joint fund-raising effort with the Republican National Committee is called the Romney Victory Fund.

The adviser said they expect more than 300 of the campaign's "major investors" – major fund-raisers and donors who have contributed $50,000 or more – to attend the retreat scheduled in two weeks.

The purpose of the meeting is to give the select group updates on the campaign, according to the aide familiar with planning.

News of the donor retreat comes days after the Romney campaign announced it raised $77 million last month, surpassing the amount raised from President Barack Obama's re-election effort and marking the first month the Republican effort out-raised the Democrats.

Romney campaign finance chairman Spencer Zwick, who arrived in Salt Lake City Friday afternoon to attend a fund-raising reception and dinner in the area with the White House hopeful, said he was "very pleased" with the fund-raising efforts by Republicans in May.

"You hope for the very best. I didn't anticipate that we would raise more than President Obama did," said Zwick.

Romney is a lier. Somebody better call his mama. Obama raised a billion dollars to defeat mccain. Most of that money came from small donars. Most of romney money is comming from the few. They will want pay back for their investments. That was his job at bain capitial. Therefore if he wins he will be the president of the 1%.

Romney's pockets seem to be getting deeper and deeper as he hauls in more cash for promises. What is left to give away to big money? They already have the moon, the earth and all of its people. Are they looking for complete supplication of the people of this country? Are ordinary people fated to be their slaves?

The sale for America is underway to the highest bidders. The Supreme Court shares the blame for allowing Super PACs to raise obscene amounts of money without any controls, accountability, or transparency. Both parties are guilty.

Its a shame that money is going to determine who the president is.This country will probally be totally controled and owned by the wealthy and the middle class and the poor will be the same 1 day soon.It looks to me it's all about money & power and control period. This isn't a great country anymore, its devided between the rich and the poor totally and very raceist and biggeted and the religion is way out of control with extremeists. If the people of this country are pushed to the point of poverty anymore you'll see a whole lot more than the 99% movements. The way society is going it can't continue and it has to stop.President Obama is a threat to the republicans because he sees what been going on and he's willing to go up against the big guys like no other president ever has.I sure hope the majority of the people stand up for equality and fairness and fight for our rights and dignity and selfrespect.

Why not invite the people that are not able to be big buck donors and listen to them? Oh yeah, you only respect the voice of the super RICH. You will never care about the middle class or the working poor. What a sorry little man you are.

Romney will be able to relax when he is surrounded by his own type and he won't have have to squirm and stutter like he does when he's around the middle class folks that bother him so much> He does deserve a break, since he has been stalking the President since the day Obama was elected by the people.

It's brown nose time for Mitt! Are we supposed to be impressed that he can raise more money than Obama? Get real. We understand who he panders to, the wealthy. And thanks to our wonderful SCOTUS, we now have a country that can be bought and sold by the wealthy. So much for Democracy.

Maybe he should try a day long retreat in one of America's needy urban settings. Not – that would be too much reality for him.

Romney is all about money. I would like him to win so that we can re-set this Nation back to slavery times when few wealthy men ruled the World. We seem to forget where we come from. We seem to forget why we needed SS, MEDICARE/HEALTHCARE,national educational goals, infrastructure and civil rights. Lets vote Romney and with the help of his 1% rich men take us back to the days. 1. Zero tax rich donors or so called job creators while shifting tax burden to the poor. 2. Subject women to 2nd class humans who need daily control. 3. Fire teachers and police. 4. Self deport illegals because the country will be so poor and hostile that Tijuana will be paradise.
