Feds drop remaining Edwards charges

Washington (CNN) - Federal prosecutors dropped the remaining charges against former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards on Wednesday, less than two weeks after his corruption trial ended in an acquittal and mistrial.

The Justice Department had accused Edwards of using nearly $1 million in illegal campaign contributions to keep his pregnant mistress under wraps as he mounted a second presidential bid in 2008. But after more than 50 hours of deliberation, a North Carolina jury acquitted him on one of the six counts against him and deadlocked on the other five.

Finally someone with some brains. We have already wasted enough money on prosecuting someone for cheating on their wife. Women do it to and you don't see them getting prosecuted. I don't care who spent what on what this was one of the dumbest lawsuits ever!!!

Yeah.... don't use the Justice Dept. to enforce the laws. That would be crazy. Now there are more people to sue more states for enforcing the laws of this nation.

All that money wasted on something that they knew they could not win. That money could have been used elsewhere but I suppose some lawyers made alot of money.

America has the best and fair systems in the World. However, we must be vigilant, not to be manipulated by outsiders.
The Great Britain did a great jobs. The BNA (British North American) act is the root one.

Now that we`ve given the GOP their token prosecution of a Democrat for this minor offense, can we NOW lock up Dick Cheney, Rumsfeld, CEO`s 2 derivative-trading financial firms etc.? Their actions far exceed any "punani-related" transgressions from Mr. Edwards.

Dems force Anthony Weiner to resign, meanwhile. Senator David Vitter remained in office . . . any thinking independent can see the false equvilancy that the media enables for the GOP.

Conservatives are a bunch of pessimistic people! They're angry because they are close-minded. This is the best country that ever existed. Being unemployed for 6 months is NOTHING compared to being hungry for a life time in Africa. C'mon people, suck it up and get back on your feet, look for work harder this is AMERICA!!!!! The reason why most people are unemployed is because most people don't have a higher education. The unemployment rate for people with a college degree is only 3.7%, way below the national average! But of course if you go to college don't major in sociology or any of the easy majors, you should major in STEM. But then again, most conservatives are afraid of science because it tells the truth.
