Partisan reality check on tax reform

New York (CNNMoney) - An analysis from Senate Democrats released Wednesday found that many in the middle class could pay more under a House Republican tax reform proposal than they do today, while the uber-rich would pay less.

The analysis - while partisan - highlights a hard truth that both parties skate over when discussing the glories of tax reform: Lower rates will come at a cost. And someone will have to pay.

I don't care if it's "partisan", the truth is the truth.

Most everything Mr. Obama says anymore is surreal and cringe worthy. He sounds like a little grade school kid who thinks by telling the same lies over and over will exonerate him or, if that doesn't work, he blames everyone else. Since the leftist media did such an effective hatchet job on George W. Bush for 8 years, he is the target of choice. Unfortunately, we have legions of dumbed down useful idiots who lap up every word from the left and haven't had an original thought in decades. The real tragedy is not Obama or his policies, but the strange fact that someone of his ilk and incompetence could actually be elected President in the first place. It is a sad commentary on the state of the nation. The health and future survival of America are in dire straights. Unfortunately, I am not sure we have the means, personnel and resolve to save her through political channels.

Democrats definition of rich = anyone still paying taxes. They think this country can survive with more people NOT paying taxes, while fewer and fewer foot the bill. They are looking to go back to the good old days of 75% and 90% top tax rates, just like the new socialist President of France. All while continuously increasing spending until the government runs just about everything. Welcome to the old USSR.

Your boy Mittens is selling the same policies that took the country into the financial toilet. The definition of insanity is "doing the same thing and expecting different results." You and the rest of the Rethugs are pitiful panderers to the rich and, possibly, insane.

Obama=Punahou School for the rich, Jakarta School for the academic elite, grandma Vice President of The Bank of Hawaii, apartment in Manhattan. Sounds to me like Obama comes from spending, having money. He's just being a hypocrite to satisfy all the morons that bought his fictional life story.

I am shocked, yes shocked, to think that the GOP would support a program that would enrich the 1% at the expense of the middle class. No, wait, I'm not.

@thomas, ilk, as in "type" or "sort." I meant it as him being a product of the chicago political machine, i.e. organized crime, a thug.

This surprises anybody? Who else is the GOP going to turn to to support their "wealthy welfare"?

Vote Republican and you vote against your own self interest!

So far the Obama administration's accounting has been far off on every estimate. Why would anyone trust this statement? Ok, sure, if you're a lunatic liberal, with no capability of rational thought, I can understand it.

Nearly everything Obama says anymore is true and common sense.
Can't say the same for the GOP.

Myview's; picture of a "wealthy" Obama is nothing short of rediculous. You forgot to mention renting a tiny room in a friend's apartment, his grandma working on the assembly line (skilled labourer); studyng in the university library as there is no money for heat in the dilapidated bedroom he is renting; not to forget the fact that he only recently paid off his student loans. Story is not fictional, it is actually mentioned by ex girlfriends who actually visited him in that dingy one bedroom; tax info shows student loans paid off. This great leader earned every cent , was not born with the silver spoon...the man knows hard work. No rich daddy for him

I suppose Niuhc is suffering CRS, he must have lived on an other planet the 8 years Dubya was in. I am also sure he knows someone who lost their home, or their job, the slide down the hill starting in 2006.

    @ Niuhc..

what I'd like to know is HOW you can keep sending the same thing over and over. I guess you cut a paste it. When I make the error here of sending something twice I get the CNN message that says "seems you already said that". You must have connections here.

The 'reality' of mitts' tax plan, like ALL of his planned policies, is that they are kept deliberty vague so that he can deny any studies such as this one.
