Washington (CNN) - House Republicans have signaled they plan to ask the Supreme Court by month's end to get involved in a constitutional fight over same-sex marriage.
In a federal court filing Wednesday in Connecticut, the House of Representatives' Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group asked a judge to put on hold consideration of a pending lawsuit in that state over the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).

Yep... Guess the GOP house somehow gets to decide what is on the Supreme Courts agenda...
It's obvious that the GOP is out of control, without a leader and running around like "headless horsemen".
the GOP won't be happy untill it has done damage to every bill ,idea, or program our president has passed or given voice to. Why don't they try working to improve the ecomony and jobs instead of spending their time on witch hunts and investigating committies? Vote all repos out.
And how many jobs is this going to create, GOP? True American patriots will vote a straight Democrat ticket in November. Voting for the domestic terrorist GOP is the equivalent of giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
Yeah, well,....getting something done for jobs is not gonna happen with this group of dopes. Why are we paying them?
drip..drip..drip...just like rome....rotting from the inside...drip..drip...
GOP is so out of touch. Gay marriage trumps jobs? Who cares about two men or two women getting married? We need jobs! NOW!!! Another reason to NOT vote republican.
Really, this is what they think that they need to do? That is just wasting time.
Gosh what a major important issue this is in our country at the moment.
This is a pure campaign motivated talking point action by Repulicans and tea partiers.
Talk about out of touch and our social issues need to be urgently re-defined, not thisi gargrantuan situation economically.
Hodgson,
Democrats don't want to do anything about the economy. Hussein would rather bring up things like Gay marriage. Amnesty ect... Well now it will be dealt with. Hussein Obama just wants to ignore the economy. We all know that.
How is this going to create jobs? What happened to "focused like a laser" on jobs. Or "Jobs, Jobs, Jobs"... (as one Republican sign read).
DOMA just illustrates the flagrant hypocrisy of Republicans. They are always going on about state's right and about oppressive federal government. But what happened when states started legalize gay marriage? The GOP immediately rushed through DOMA to federally dictate to all the states.
Lots of jobs created by the GOP on this rant.
It's coming, folks. The same conspiracy theorist from Alabama Militia is starting the rumor.
He was the guy that put the partial tape of Shirly Sherodd on FOX that got her fired.
No he is talking to Grassley and Issa about Fast and Furious being a plot to take away gun rights in the U.S. It's not true, but they seem to think it will stick.
The nuts name is Mike Vanderboegh - just watch and see. And he is a member of an Alabama Militia group.
The GOP is at it again: “Freedom for us, not for them” – “take our country back” – “corporations are people too” – “what are you thinking, I am running for office” – “I bet you…”
Have not heard the GOP talk about how they will make things better for the ENTIRE country. But heard a lot that are proven failures! And when they cannot get their way – let the SCOTUS try to do it! Yes, that is what they want YOU to vote for!
The GOP is going for a trifecta. The may win by defeating the ACA, but will face the wrath of the 30 million who will lose their health insurance (and about anyone with morality); the Arizona S.B. 1070 law that allows people to be arrested for being Hispanic (under the assumption Hispanics=Illegal Aliens) which will certainly end their chances for minority votes, and; no they want to go after Gays agin and treat their civil rights as second class.
This is a pretty numbing game plan as for each one a plurality of Americans agree with the President. Perhaps the GOP should be placed under a suicide watch and checked for mental illness.
