Condoleezza Rice to raise cash for GOP women

Washington (CNN) – Condoleezza Rice will host her first Washington, D.C. fund-raiser Monday night in support of ShePAC, a super PAC focused on supporting Republican women.

Former Secretary of State Rice will lead a private briefing for GOP women serving in the House and Senate, a larger briefing for members and deliver remarks to a general reception, according to an adviser to the PAC.

"Though the population of the United states is 51% female, Republican women hold only 5.5% of our Congressional seats," the group's co-chairs and treasurer wrote in an email to supporters announcing their first fund-raiser. "Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is joining our efforts to change that percentage by helping us support Republican women."

ShePAC launched in February with the goal of electing conservative women across the country. They received national attention earlier in the year for an online video, "Bill Maher: Obama's Million Dollar Man," which they used to subsequently raise thousands of dollars.

The 29 GOP women currently serving in Congress were invited to Monday's events. The confirmed attendees include Senate candidates Deb Fischer of Nebraska, Heather Wilson of New Mexico and Sarah Steelman of Missouri. House candidates Martha Zoller of Georgia, Lisa Wilson-Foley of Connecticut, Karen Harrington of Florida, Wendy Rogers of Arizona, Kim Vann of California, Nancy Jacobs of Maryland, Faith Loudon of Maryland, Leah Campos-Schandlbauer of Arizona, Maria Sheffield of Georgia and Jason Love, representing his wife Mia Love of Utah will also attend, according to the adviser.

Monday's events follow Rice's appearance at a Mitt Romney presidential campaign retreat over the weekend. Although the former top diplomat in the administration of former President George W. Bush does not often play politics publicly, many attendees at the Utah gathering called Rice's speech to the group a highlight of the weekend.

Chuck Cobb, a former ambassador to Iceland, called Rice "spectacular."

"She's just a very bright, sophisticated, articulate lady," Cobb said.

Roughly 700 Romney donors and fund-raisers at the Park City, Utah resort were treated to panel discussions, speeches and a strategy briefing from Romney and his staff.

Since she'll never be the VP pick – she might as well try to raise some funds. In any event, who cares?

It's a super pac that's trying to give Republican women the right not to have to wear a Burka...

  3. Obama 2012 - BEND Forward America, take another 4 long years of OBAMA FAILURE

Marry - But she is also like many others in the GOP a very evil person, void of any ethical thinking that grabbed the chance to be “important”. Because of her greed and power-hungry personality she aided and justified decisions that cost thousands their live, their health, their families, their friends, their sanity, their homes...
You are a very sick person and should seek treatment if you really believe what you have written.

BTW, Obama has made decisions that have cost people their lives in Afghanistan and Obama and Holder have made decisions that have cost hundreds of Mexicans and two US Border Patrol agents their lives. Are they as evil by your standards?

I don't imagine they will be giving out free contraceptives at the event. I wonder how many of these women have been forced by law to have an ultrasound before they are qualified to serve in Congress.

Can anyone explain to me whether there is a difference between this woman (Condi) and "W". This is the woman who mislead "W" and yet all the blames are thrown to him instead to her. She should not show her face anywhere. A woman who claimed: "no any sliver bullet could have prevented 9/11????".

Condi is one of the smartest women in America and knows that the present administration is all about division of the masses and pitting one segment against another in his desperate attempt to win re-election. She will be a big asset to women running for office to return this nation to it's original greatness after a four year disaster.

Completely agree with the commenter who noted because of her greed and power-hungry personality she aided and justified decisions that cost thousands their live, their health, their families, their friends, their sanity, their homes... Condeleeza Rice beat the drum of war based on lies and don't forget her ridiculous mushroom cloud comment. The Repubs are all focused on the Border Patrol Agent killed by a gun under a program started under Condy's era. I agree he should not have lost his life but there are over 5,000 of our brave men and women who sacrificed their lives for her lies. How shameful they are.

II'm a staunch democrat, and I believe that Condi did a very good job , considering the times she worked in.

Condi is smart and I admire her being the first black woman secretary of state, but this lady lied just as much as Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld. They had her right under their thumbs and dared her to speak out of turn. She is just like Romney will sell their souls to the devil to get their power and prestige. Nothing but puppets. Also GOP quit using her to court the black vote. It won't work.

an African American like Condi Rice has true class even though I don't agree with all her views, but if I were to vote for a GOP candidate I would listen to her FAR more than others like Allen West, Herman Cain, or Alan Keyes. Condi I believe along with Colin Powell could move MORE Blacks to join the GOP because they are NOT of the far right intolerent type that dominate today what was once a pretty decent party.

I like her, respect her but she is dead wrong. The republican party has offered NOHTING to any group that was not white, not blacks, not latinos, not asians, not indians, not gays etc. When they become a more inclusive party, then people may give them a second look but for now they seem to be going further and further right.....right into nutsville!

And yet, among all these nefarious name callings, GOP thinks it can bulldoze its way into the voters’ minds for a few morsel of votes. Seems like the powerful panhandlers are on the prowl. Remember, hubris can ge a big harangue against the current economic woes of the gov., but whether it will fetch votes or not is another huge issue. Humility, on the otherhand, can be a refreshing virtue, but then GOP has no place for that word in their lexicopgraphy. Even a juggernaut can bo brought to naught.

Rice is being consistent. As Bush's cheerleader for Iraq, she promoted the worst foreign policy blunder in 100 years, knowing it was based on lies and Bush's personal goals, not the interests of the United States. She did that because she, like he, LOVED power. She loves being in the limelight, having a national stage, and national influence. The fact that it's influence that, as an expert in foreign affairs, she knows is in the wrong direction counts for very little for her, against the fact that she is the influencer. So now she continues to knowingly lie and suck up to the Republican bigwigs, so she can continue to have power. She's a mediocrity who learned how to suck up to Dubya, with no honor and no credibility. She's found the natural career path for a suckup mediocrity: pandering for the Republicans.

She was a tool in the Bush admin. Period. Whatever smarts she had, definitely took a backseat to the Dubya's "decider" decisions... Maybe she can reignite her secret love affair with Kadaffi...
