
(CNN) - Iconic Rep. Charlie Rangel is fighting for the Democratic nomination in a newly redrawn New York district, after an over four-decade long congressional career that made him one of the most high profile lawmakers and almost culminated after he was censured on the House floor in 2010.
The 21-term representative is locked in a five-way Tuesday race for the nomination in his Harlem-area district that now has more Latino-Americans than African-Americans, a shift that has no doubt helped Rangel's fiercest competition, state Sen. Adriano Espaillat.

That is a long time in the House. I don't think he is going to leave unless he loses the election or dies.
Mr. Rangel has done well by the people of Harlem. I don't see anyone replacing him.
Charlie Rangel was found guilty on some counts in recieving perks and he's paid his debts,but not to the extent some others as Cheney,Bush ,etc have recieved during their years while in office.This is behind Mr.Rangel and I hope people will look beyond this and not be so critical of someone like him that is for the people,he's not one the minions of corporations that his republican counterparts are.
