Washington (CNN) - After months of difficult talks, bipartisan House and Senate negotiators reached a tentative deal on a giant transportation funding bill Wednesday, multiple sources tell CNN. A formal announcement is expected late Wednesday night after the last details are hammered out and the final language is drafted, they said.
Congressional leaders said they hoped to attach the highway bill to a measure extending a rate cut on some student loans and legislation reauthorizing national flood insurance and pass them as one bill out of the House and Senate by Friday. Doing so would let Congress beat looming deadlines when these measures expire and also would allow lawmakers to escape town for their Fourth of July recess.

What else did republicans attach, hopefully their plane tickets outta here.Democrates start with one or two page legislation, after republicans its up to 50 and climbing,so much for conservatism, that's hilariously hypocrital ,but its republican isn't it!!
Everyone in congress knows the clock is ticking, feeling the election pressure, have to tell the people back home they are doing their job....only that guy from Kentucky....Paul doesn't get it!!!! Well look at his dad...!!!
I am not holding my breath. Get it through your heads, Congress. You do these NO things and you think it is to go against President Obama, but in the end you continue to hurt the American Public,.
Really, no poison pill radical right-wing fundamentalist extremist amendments to drag it down? America, the GOP doesn't want to govern, they just want the perks of the office, while ruining the country for you and generations to come. Since we can't round them up and shoot them for treason (yet), vote a straight Democrat ticket in November, or kiss the country as you remember it goodbye. Voting for any GOP goon equates to giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
Republicans took away any arguments they may have about anything when they supported Sarah Palin. So don't blame Democrats, blame yourselves because Mitt Romney too is proving to be a total disaster.
I hope that there is a deal. Congress needs to understand that this is a problem that has been ongoing. Congress has been very lax in making sure that the roads and bridges are maintained. A little at a time would have kept this from being so huge.
Do they really think they need a vacation? Some in Congress has not thought it was necessary to work together to produce the best legislation possible. Instead they came to Washington with their own agendas and refused to work together. They pledged their allegiance to a person and his agenda and not to the American people. Unfortunately, candidates are still signing this pledge and members will continue to follow the tenets of this man and his followers.
So, as the Lefty Loon Haters will see it, the Republicans agreed on something. What about genius Harry Reid refusing to bring Republican bills to vote? So who really is the 'party of no"? Better do your research.
What about Rand Paul , we all know the only way to stop Abortions is to not rebuild our highways ?
Paul / Issi
Right to life and Assault weapons , Restore our Insanity 2016 ?

Ohhhh my goodness! They might actually accomplish something worthwhile for the people!
