BREAKING: House votes to hold Holder in contempt
(CNN) - The House of Representatives voted Thursday to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in criminal contempt for refusing to turn over documents tied to the botched Fast and Furious gun-running sting - a discredited operation that has become a sharp point of contention between Democrats and Republicans in Washington.
The 255-67 vote marked the first time in American history that the head of the Justice Department has been held in contempt by Congress. Almost every House Republican backed the measure, along with nearly 20 Democrats.

Exactly, and that is why we will never have to worry about "forgiving" all of the dishonesty coming out of
the Repubican Party, because they never admit mistakes, and they, "at the very least", will never admit
their dishonesty.
I will not live long enough to find respect in my heart for any Republican ever again, but I hope I live long
enough to know they will not succeed in destroying America. Not her people, not the glorious landscape,
not the air or water, and certainly not more careers as they have tried to do today. There are very few
people as devious as Issa, as weak as Boehner, and as hateful as Cantor and McConnell. They do not
deserve the privelege of "serving" in Congress, because they do not serve, they only tear down.

once again you seem to have not been here long enough to see the way the parties treat each other. When the Tea Party was walking around with pics of Obama with a bone thru his nose Republicans on the House steps CHEERED!! Just recently up in Montana a outhouse was used to describe the Obama Oval office, a woman at a shooting range told Rick Santorum to pretend the target he was shooting at was Obama, Congressman King said if Obama won the office "newMuslim's would be dancing in the streets, and let's not start with the birther crap the GOP won't denounce. As a "new" person to this country it swings BOTH ways, too bad you're blinded by the RIGHT and only have their vision of it.

I agree with you guys, Patrick Gaspard, Republicans and Democrats should apologize to the people of this country for being rude and hurtful.
Refuse all attempts to hand over what has been asked for over 12 months and thats what happens. Most likely nothing will happen to him like it would to us every day Americans if we completely ignored subpoenas. Special treatment – isn't that rich.
the republican party is in the N.R.A pockets and arizona with their supressed gun laws is nothing but a pipeline to run guns to the cartels and who ever want to buy them.so they want the attorny general show his hand to divert their tactics somewhere else.

I have a story about a President named Bush who not only LIED to the country and THOUSANDS DIED, but abused his very own Executive Power privileges.

Such a shame it has come to this. Holding Attorney General Holder in contempt. As usual it will turn out to be a dissaster for the folks in the house that voted for this. Is it because it is an election year and you all will try anything to make the Democrats look bad? Is it racist? I am sure you'll deny that one. We all know it was a botched situation. Even Mr. Holder knows that. Could you all not come up with an agreement? Why even go there?
Since the GOP has not created a single one of the jobs they promised, I vote that "We The Peoplel" hold them in contempt and ask them to stop this money-wasting foolishness. I have never seen Republicans waste so much tax money by not doing their jobs.
Obama owes more to the people who protect our borders and enforce our laws than to hide behind Executive Privilege. All Representative Issa is trying to do is to conduct a thorough investigation of why our government ended up supplying guns that were used to kill one of our own. It is a surprise that the Obama Administration has chosen this incident to stonewall on. Probably this was the recommendation of his Campaign Manager David Axelrod. Transparency is a fairy tale.
The fact that many of the members walked out is something to note. Did Issa ever talk to someone connected with the "Fast and Furious" program? That would shed some light on things.
