GOP: No LOL over OFA's 'BFD' T(-shirt)

(CNN) - An adviser for Mitt Romney took a shot Friday at the president's re-election campaign, Obama For America (OFA), over a t-shirt it's selling online about the Supreme Court's decision to uphold the federal health care law.

The shirt, in big letters, reads: "Health reform still a BFD."

Obama's Twitter account advertised the shirt in a tweet that has been re-tweeted more than 800 times since it first went out Thursday night.

The three-letter term has nearly reached household status ever since Vice President Joe Biden was caught on mic telling the president in 2010 that the health care legislation was a "big f***ing deal."

Biden, in a fit of nostalgia, poked fun at the two-year-old moment Thursday afternoon and posted on Twitter: "Today's decision is a really big – important – deal."

Now, in an effort to fund-raise off of the Supreme Court's decision Thursday, the Obama campaign is also bringing back the "BFD" with the t-shirt, which sells for $30.

However, Romney adviser Eric Fehrnstrom wasted no time in calling out his rival campaign for what he described as un-presidential behavior.
"Still not presidential. Kids, earmuffs," he wrote.

A Democratic leader faced similar criticism Thursday after posting an off-color tweet immediately after the health care decision was announced.

"It's constitutional. Bitches," wrote Patrick Gaspard, executive director of Democratic National Committee.

While he followed it up with semi-apology, saying he let his excitement get the best of him, Gaspard's tweet nonetheless went viral and sparked criticism over his spiking-the-ball approach.

Not precisely. They said it was authorized under Article 1, Section 8, the "Taxing and Spending Clause." However, they also ruled that the Anti-Injunction Act does NOT apply, but it applies to ALL taxes. Essentially wha they were saying is that it is not a tax, but functions enough like one that it is authorized under the same clause.

Does that apply strictly to the mandate to buy insurance? I know there are 20+ new taxes per say actually in obamacare. Just asking!

    Have a nice day all!

"Do you realize that it has already doubled in cost to our nation and this is only 1 year into it?"

No it didn't. The original cost estimate was for a different time period. The original was for the decade beginning in 2010. The one you're referring to is for the decade beginning in 2012. The difference is 2 years during which almost none of the ACA's provisions had taken effect yet. Moreover, the second study did not cover estimates of cost-savings over time and then offset them against required outlays. It ONLY measured expected outlays. The two numbers you are tyring to compare are blatantly apples and oranges. The apples didn't change into an orange. Rather, the apple and the orange were diply different things all along.

Yes. That was the provision in question upon which they were ruling. They weren't ruling on the other things that were actual taxes, beacuse they were not at issue.

Big O is NOT a BFD, nor will he ever be. Leftists, you will rue the day your law was upheld, because in the end it will bring every single one of you down.

    -Four and The Door-
Given that the Ryan plan ultimately seeks to do away with Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, and that Mr. Romney (and the rest of the crazy GOP) want to repeal the ACA when they have absolutely nothing to replace it with, I highly doubt we'll do better with the "We serve the rich only" GOP in charge.
Not so. Medicare funding runs dry in 2024. The Ryan Plan saves it as a restructured, fully capable program that can exist efficiently and serve American seniors going forward. The Democrats would let it go broke. They say they care but they ignore managing it. In fact, all the Democrats have been doing is pilfering funding intended for these programs.
I don't even know where you got the rest of your assertions. Even Obama hasn't tried to make up crap like that.

You're mouthing the words from one of a Fox News blow-hard. Admit it... you actually have no idea how any tax hike will impact anybody and no idea of the actual amount. You radicals have simply latched-on to the word "tax" without any understanding what-so-ever. Do you think the provisions of the healthcare bill (wanted by a majority of Republicans less the mandate) would be free? You must pay for the insurance or pay the tax. "Fox News... the more you watch it the less you know..."

the funny thing is the republicans had been spiking this ball prematurely (probably the same problem they have at home) and now they are upset because they had intended this to be their party

What about Romney's under garment that the Mormons keep under tight can't even see a picture of them unless you are Mormon. I'd like to see if they have special messages on them – but can't since I won't be Mormon till after I die and they baptize me posthumously....

First of all, it's not a "tax", it's a penalty or "fine". Second, and more important (listen up right-winger faux outrage sub-humans), it's NOT enforced. In fact, there is wording in the ACA that clearly states that those who are assessed the penalty and don't pay it face NO REPERCUSSIONS whatsoever. In other words, the mandate is as meaningless as you right-wingers are.

I find it hilarious that this guy's chastizing a re-election campaign t-shirt for being vulgar in one sentence, and quoting the undeniably vulgar movie "Old School" in the next. Classic.

To the lame stream media, everything and anything Mr. Obama says or does, whether HE's right or wrong, is a BFD. Also, what else can you expect from "The Mouth Biden". While I am not a Republican, if it had been a Republican making the idiotic/irresponsible/divisive comments that "The Mouth Biden" usually makes, the lame stream media would NOT let the issue rest. And to turn one of "The Mouth Biden's" most idiotic comments into a campaign fund raiser is beyond shameless.

Mr. Obama and his ever divisive campaign team must be getting really desperate. They are far away from achieving their "promised" $1 billion goal. This is part of what happens when Mr. Obama and his cronies speak before their brains are engaged.

And, don't get me going on the "Obama Celebration Campaign Contribution."

NOTE to Black Churches: You must not forget Ms. Moochele Obama's marching orders. You MUST contribute and vote for Mr. Obama , or, FACE THE MUSIC!!!

    Oh well...
