GOP: No LOL over OFA's 'BFD' T(-shirt)

(CNN) - An adviser for Mitt Romney took a shot Friday at the president's re-election campaign, Obama For America (OFA), over a t-shirt it's selling online about the Supreme Court's decision to uphold the federal health care law.

The shirt, in big letters, reads: "Health reform still a BFD."

Obama's Twitter account advertised the shirt in a tweet that has been re-tweeted more than 800 times since it first went out Thursday night.

The three-letter term has nearly reached household status ever since Vice President Joe Biden was caught on mic telling the president in 2010 that the health care legislation was a "big f***ing deal."

Biden, in a fit of nostalgia, poked fun at the two-year-old moment Thursday afternoon and posted on Twitter: "Today's decision is a really big – important – deal."

Now, in an effort to fund-raise off of the Supreme Court's decision Thursday, the Obama campaign is also bringing back the "BFD" with the t-shirt, which sells for $30.

However, Romney adviser Eric Fehrnstrom wasted no time in calling out his rival campaign for what he described as un-presidential behavior.
"Still not presidential. Kids, earmuffs," he wrote.

A Democratic leader faced similar criticism Thursday after posting an off-color tweet immediately after the health care decision was announced.

"It's constitutional. Bitches," wrote Patrick Gaspard, executive director of Democratic National Committee.

While he followed it up with semi-apology, saying he let his excitement get the best of him, Gaspard's tweet nonetheless went viral and sparked criticism over his spiking-the-ball approach.

    Fair is Fair:
Unless you are a millionaire (upper-middle class doesn't even count), Mitt Romney, or your beloved GOP cares nothing for you…or your cat.

The lil GOPers' just love that fine whine, and for good reason, they are so proficient at it. Like most of Mittens crew of no serving chickenhawks they run to mommie when they see those mean ole T-shirts. I amsure they still use a night light to ward off all those buggermen terrorists hiding under the bed. Night night.

Great t-shirt because it IS so true. I have one that says Dogs Against Romney (I just threw up a little bit writing down his name instead of bishop).
The truth hurts, eh? Too bad that the bully and his minions can't see the humor in this but when you are a wooden piece of nothing it's hard to get up for anything.

I'm all for funny, off-the-wall shirts and sayings, but for our President to advertise and sell this shirt on his homepage is a disgrace and tell-all of what type of man he and his adminisration really are. What great role models for our kids. What a clown.

I am sincerely sorry that your mom had to go through that. At least with her insurance company, she had the recourse to fight it. With the government plan, which we will all be on eventually, she wouldn't have been able to fight it. I totally agree that there are issues with our healthcare system that needed to be fixed. However, a government takeover was not the way to go. Do you really think that when it comes down to it that the government is going to be anymore compassionate? This is the same government that lied to us to get this monstrosity passed. Government doesn't care about any of us. I guess that time will just have to prove that.

  14. Vote the Tea Party OUT in 2012

I can understand some on the right getting angry about this seeing how pious most of them are. I was also upset when they sold those Joe Wilson "YOU LIE" t-shirts and autograph pictures and the pictures of Jan Brewer with her finger pointed in the president's face. And let's not forget the fundraising they did over the Allen West Communist deal.

Romoney is such liar – his Mass Health Care plan is the same as Obama – NOW he lies like a rug - take a look at him he is DAZED and CONFUSED – and will lie to be president – we already know he will do anything to make a BUCK – layoffs and ship jobs over seas

Catholics are in favour of universal health care – it is part o
their religion in fact Catholics do not believe Mormons are christians

Romoney staff have not figured it out yet but Romoney's position against universal health care has made him loose CATHOLICS

This administration has so many people fooled. It is amazing to see it happen. Maybe Obama found a piece of the spear of destiny somewhere.

The Obama administration on Friday threatened to veto a defense appropriations bill in part because it does not include higher health care fees for members of the military.
The Obama administration is pure evil, more and more proof is out there with the passage of time.

Oh for heaven's sake, Republicans whine about everything. If the t-shirt had the word spelled out, fine, you have a case. But it doesn't, so you don't. Grow up.

So, CNN, when are you going to report about the part of the SCOTUS decision that held that the Anti-Injunction Act does not apply to the ACA and the "individual mandate" even though it applies to ALL taxes? In other words, the rulling essentially says that it's not really technically a tax, but was still authorized by the Taxing and Spending Clause.

Why did he SCOTUS do this? Beacuse if they ruled that it was a tax, the Anti-Injunction Act would have applied, which woul dhave meant that the case was not ripe to be decided because the tax had not been levied and the government had not attempted to collect it yet...which doesn't happen until 2014.

Bottom line: it's not really a tax, but rather something that functions similarly to one and serves the purpose of a penalty. Of course, the GOP/Teatrolls are busy trying to get out in front of that analysis and get the misinformation messaging out there before anyone can correct them...and you're all too happy to help them, right CNN?

In just 3 years, Obama put us over $4 trillion in debt.
We could have given every American a 2 full year income tax holiday for less than that. Yes, no income tax at all for 2 years.
Can you imagine how our economy would be doing with an average of $30,000 staying in the pockets of every single taxpayer?
Yet the Democrats simply wasted that money in Washington, and all we have to show for it is $4.5 Trillion in new debt!
