Rupert Murdoch's advice to Romney: Get some pros on your team

(CNN) – Rupert Murdoch offered presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney some unsolicited advice on Twitter Sunday: Lose your friends and hire professionals.

The message wasn't the first time the 81-year-old News Corporation chairman has used Twitter to offer sharp criticism of Romney. Last week he slammed the former Massachusetts governor and two-time presidential candidate for his immigration position.

Murdoch's conglomerate, News Corp., owns media properties across the globe, including the Wall Street Journal and Fox News Channel in the United States. In Britain, his newspaper empire includes The Sun and the Sunday Times. In 2011 and 2012, Murdoch has been embroiled in a scandal involving alleged phone hacking at some of his newspaper holdings.

While some of Murdoch's media titles - including Fox News and the New York Post - carry known conservative leanings editorially, the man himself has been known to support candidates of both parties. In 2006, he was reported to have held a fund-raiser for then-Sen. Hillary Clinton, a Democrat, and in 2008, he called then-candidate Barack Obama a "rock star" and praised his education plan. In 2010, News Corp. gave a $1 million donation to the Republican Governors Association.

Murdoch, a native of Australia and a naturalized American citizen, is a regular tweeter, sending several messages per week and responding to his followers when they write to him with questions.

Aside from his candid thoughts on Romney, Murdoch also weighed in on this week's bombshell celebrity headline.

"Scientology back in news. Very weird cult, but big, big money involved with Tom Cruise either number two or three in hierarchy," Murdoch wrote.

Actually "staying away from the media" is the best strategy for Romney. He hasn't stuck his foot in his mouth in weeks. How long does it take to "shake an etch a sketch" anyway? He should be ready for primetime soon. I do not envy his self inflicted situation. He got the nomination by acting rabidly conservative to the point of personal embarrassment for his team, now he has to convince independents that he is moderate without losing the Tea Party. No amount of spin or money can fix that.

Romney is following the Rick Scott election plan. Rick Scott was vague on everything and refused to answer questions about his past Medicare Frauds and his recent ones. He put up almost no solid plans on what he planned on doing and it worked. He got elected. I just hope the rest of the country is smarter then the voters of Florida.

The merger or takeover since that's the only way Murdoch plays will be complete soon with the RNC. Get your share of newscorp, I'm sure the 24 hour network driving fringe theories called you donated will help Rupert. Clearly, The pirate can't wait until after the election to start playing with his new toy though

Sooner than later, Romney has to answer question and not evade them by going back to how President has handled it and he will handle it better but how? He is still trying to prove to his base on this authenticity.
    - Need to explain why he wants to repeal ACA when it is same as Romneycare.
    - How at Bain he fired people so that he can make money for himself and his rich cronies.
    - Still refusing to release his tax info. Where all his money is invested?
    - How he was pro-choice once and now became severely conservative?
If he cannot answer these questions, he will loose the independents and the young.

Do you really think Mitt is going to take advice from corrupt Murdoch? You know there is a good reason why Faux(fox) News and Murdoch are not allowed to broadcast in Canada. Its called journalistic integrity. Murdoch and faux news do not have any integrity.

I don't know how the experts can spin a terribly flawed candidate. Let's see-Bain capital–
well ya can't do much with that–unless you want to focus in India's economy. Women's rights–
well ya can't do much with that either unless you want to talk about his deafening silence as Limbaugh
bullied fluke–when santorum even stand up for the girl and yousay nothing Romney–you have problems.
Healthcare-well that's a dandy–you invented much of what just recently passed. this morning i watched
Jindal and the VT governor on meet the press and poor jindal sounded like a little kid who did not get his way.
Dean was as cool and level headed as could be and there was no refuting him. I think that when (and some
of them are) voters start to listen republicans will not stand a chance.

Romney needs to disavow the tenents of the Mormo faith that don't allow minorities to become high ranking church leaders nor allows women to even enter the main Temple in Salt Lake City.

Either you believe women are the equals of men and minoroities are the equal of whites or not If Romney believes in equality, say it. If not, just continue down the path to failure that he is currently turning into another Republican rut.

Murdock also zinged romney the previous week – appropriately nailing him on the sophistry of his campaign.

Like him or not, it doesn't hurt to listen to someone who has lived through some history and as seen the consequences, both good and bad, of some actions and philosophies.

So exactly who is he suggesting? Karl Rove and Roger Ailes? Or some others who will engage in dirty political tricks like Murdoch's employees in the UK and elsewhere? Great. That will really help the USA a lot.

Advice from a man without any integrity and no moral compass, he is a cancer in any society where he has meddled in politics. Romney, am man without any courage would be a disaster for this country and the economy would collapse because greed is his motto.

Rupert's Fox empire is global. Fox news spins facts to help out the rich in all countries. They have no interest in telling the truth if it hurts a rich Saudi or a rich German. Fox was implemented just as did in Germany did as propaganda for the people to get misinformation in order for the rich to get richer worldwide....And Unfortunatly Rupert an Aussie and a Saudi prince that own Fox have succeeded in gathering the less informed to do their bidding....Romney will only be a puppet for the global leaders worldwide and the people in this country are of no interest to them at all....

Romney fired the poor people at Bain so he can and did get RICHER, so I would not be surprise if he take advice from Murdoch , these Rich cronies work together cheating the poor and telling lies.

The fact alone that Romney met with Murdoch is alarming. For what reason would anyone meet with this creepy man other than gathering "methods". I would be very interested in listening to transcripts of any conversation between Romney, his staff and Murdoch, probably very very creepy.
Let's move forward with integrity, decency and vision for all of America and not just the 1%: Obama!
