Rupert Murdoch's advice to Romney: Get some pros on your team

(CNN) – Rupert Murdoch offered presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney some unsolicited advice on Twitter Sunday: Lose your friends and hire professionals.

The message wasn't the first time the 81-year-old News Corporation chairman has used Twitter to offer sharp criticism of Romney. Last week he slammed the former Massachusetts governor and two-time presidential candidate for his immigration position.

Murdoch's conglomerate, News Corp., owns media properties across the globe, including the Wall Street Journal and Fox News Channel in the United States. In Britain, his newspaper empire includes The Sun and the Sunday Times. In 2011 and 2012, Murdoch has been embroiled in a scandal involving alleged phone hacking at some of his newspaper holdings.

While some of Murdoch's media titles - including Fox News and the New York Post - carry known conservative leanings editorially, the man himself has been known to support candidates of both parties. In 2006, he was reported to have held a fund-raiser for then-Sen. Hillary Clinton, a Democrat, and in 2008, he called then-candidate Barack Obama a "rock star" and praised his education plan. In 2010, News Corp. gave a $1 million donation to the Republican Governors Association.

Murdoch, a native of Australia and a naturalized American citizen, is a regular tweeter, sending several messages per week and responding to his followers when they write to him with questions.

Aside from his candid thoughts on Romney, Murdoch also weighed in on this week's bombshell celebrity headline.

"Scientology back in news. Very weird cult, but big, big money involved with Tom Cruise either number two or three in hierarchy," Murdoch wrote.

What an empty life Rupert must have. Still working and getting involved with nonsense in his old age.....he must be a real stick in the mud. His ego is gonna die with him. Hopefully soon.

Rupert, Rupert, Rupert, you are already toast, and we will make you sorry you messed with the people of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA!
YOU are a DINOSAUR! Just like the people who were hoping to get rich off of your flawed reasoning.

If you're going to use DNC talking points, at least get it right. Murdoch is Austrailian. And contrary to what Obama thinks, they don't speak Austrian in Austrailia. (I know, I know... he was in Austria when he said that, but I just couldn't resist)

Murdock ? What a joke. Romney is toast. The republican Party destroyed this country and they will not get the chance to destroy it anymore. The people of this country deserve better. The United States is NOT for Sals. All the Big Money Romney gets from the Wallstreet people will be tossed out on their ears and President Obama will prevail at the end ! Novembers election will just have to show them that. They will never face the fact that their responsible for the colapse and destruction we the middle class have suffered at all.Well now they have to face it period.

Why doesn't Rupert just get right to the point. Rupert wants Mitt to start paying for FauxNews promotional services rather than expecting to continue getting them for free.

Rupert is the major owner of Fox foreign owned media. Being Australian makes Rupert nothing more than an anchor baby that Mittens wants to self deport.

You call the shots, Ru-perd. Herd-em.
Call the team of pros and put them on the scent: Koch, Rove, and the Texas Perries.
Ton Delay needs a come back, him too.

Put your current wife in charge of it, and your ex as her assistant.

Hiring staff doesn't help when the candidate flip flops so often he doesn't even know his own position anymore.

On Friday, during an interview, Romney describe his immigration plan. It's the fifth different immigration plan he's announced in the last 3 months.
During the interview, Romney was saying President Obama's plan was a failure.
It's funny, because in the same interview, Romney endorsed a plan (which it turns out is exactly what President Obama's plan is).

Hard to expect pros to help a guy like Romney who argues against himself in a matter of minutes.
It's why Senator McCain was able to shred him in 2008.

Sadly, all the decent Republican politicians decided not to run. As a result, Romney was never exposed as a man suited for the Waffle House, not the White House.

I think Murdock is referring to Obama’s lack of academics, studies in business, finance, economics, mathematics, accounting. Not much difference between Obama and CNN Ali Velshi who got his degree in Religious Studies and has the audacity to give advice on the economy, finances and had considered going back to school to get an MBA.

It is a mormon tradition to give business to other mormons over others. I suspect that Romney will not violate that.

Another sign that the right man for the job of President in 2012 is the person holding it now. The Republican are so at odd with themselves they have on coherent message. Romneycare and Obamacare is good example of how they have lied themselves into a corner.

I think it speaks volumes that when News Corp decided to split, they put all their NEWS papers in one division, and entertainment in another. Fox News is on the entertainment side.

Best admission yet that they are not, and will be not in the future, a legitimate news source.

I think Rupert means to use the "wire taps" to bring down his opponents. Fox news did it quite successfully.

  23. Rupert Murdoch = Josef Goebbels

Rupert is deceiving almost the whole world. He preys on the vulnerable, getting them to act against their own interests, in the name of patriotic duty. He would gladly destroy the world, because it would make for great press, enriching his corrupt and dishonest media empire. FOX "news" is the mouthpiece of the radical corporatocracy, giving a voice to the Koch brothers, Rove, Norquist, and other far right conquerers. God is very disappointed in Rupert Murdoch. Do not be one of Rupert's followers. And realize that if Rupert wants Romney, you shouldn't.

Worrying about Romney losing is like worrying "what if it rains and the rain falls down instead of up!"

Romney has no chance of winning the November election – no matter how much SuperPac money he gets from regional warlord wannabes like Sheldon Adelman – Romney is a sociopathic loser who has no business being in American politics.

See, even Murdoch doesn't like Romney. And the more other people become familiar with him, the more they ain't gonna like him. He's awkward, he flip flops all over the place and he doesn't stand for anything. Wow!
