Rupert Murdoch's advice to Romney: Get some pros on your team

(CNN) – Rupert Murdoch offered presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney some unsolicited advice on Twitter Sunday: Lose your friends and hire professionals.

The message wasn't the first time the 81-year-old News Corporation chairman has used Twitter to offer sharp criticism of Romney. Last week he slammed the former Massachusetts governor and two-time presidential candidate for his immigration position.

Murdoch's conglomerate, News Corp., owns media properties across the globe, including the Wall Street Journal and Fox News Channel in the United States. In Britain, his newspaper empire includes The Sun and the Sunday Times. In 2011 and 2012, Murdoch has been embroiled in a scandal involving alleged phone hacking at some of his newspaper holdings.

While some of Murdoch's media titles - including Fox News and the New York Post - carry known conservative leanings editorially, the man himself has been known to support candidates of both parties. In 2006, he was reported to have held a fund-raiser for then-Sen. Hillary Clinton, a Democrat, and in 2008, he called then-candidate Barack Obama a "rock star" and praised his education plan. In 2010, News Corp. gave a $1 million donation to the Republican Governors Association.

Murdoch, a native of Australia and a naturalized American citizen, is a regular tweeter, sending several messages per week and responding to his followers when they write to him with questions.

Aside from his candid thoughts on Romney, Murdoch also weighed in on this week's bombshell celebrity headline.

"Scientology back in news. Very weird cult, but big, big money involved with Tom Cruise either number two or three in hierarchy," Murdoch wrote.

Corporations like the Big 3 cars makers are made up of hundreds of thousands of people, from the CEO to the janitors. Without people, corporations cannot exist. That is what Romney meant when he said that corporations are people too. Corporations create millions of jobs in America and we see what happens to some of those jobs when corporations move overseas, so let's not be too critical of corporations even if at times they can seem greedy.

I'm sure Romney will follow his advice- one thing the GOP knows how to do is suck up to money.

Nothing like inviting "yourself" to become a member of the team!! Rupert thinks he's a "pro"!! Of course, not everyone thinks so!! And of course MOST of us know that Romney will NEVER be a pro!!

Great now we have a guy who hacked the parents of a murdered girls's phone to boost sales of a news paper helping Romney. How cruel can you be? this is typical for the pay for play crowd , nothing matters but that almighty dollar, Romney is in good company

I will never understand how or why a foreigner was ever allowed to take over media in the United States of America. This man seems determined to destroy the US from within.

Romney needs to ditch Republican strategists like Mike Murphy and Kevin Madden who have been the architects of GOP defeats for the past 10 years.

CNN should also head Murdoch's advice and hire some pros. The team it currently has is at best "Triple A" rather than major league.

That would mean that Romney couldn't even qualify for his own team.

I just want Romney to verify whether he is running for the position of President for himself or for the people of the nation of the United States of America. If you are runnig for self gratification then keep your old friends, but if you are running for the country as a whole, then get some tough knowledgeable individuals that know how to beat down these criminals in the White House Administration at the present time

One (disgraced crook), giving advice to a wanna be crook. And the people in the middle class, or the so called poor are looked upon as sheep to be fleeced. Don't believe it? Vote for the wanna be, and spend the next four crying.

Romney seems to think he is running for "King." He keeps saying "Vote for me and I will think of something." I hope Americans don't throw their futures away voting for this man. If Romney wins I guess foreigners will run this country.

The bishop is NOT running because of the good of the country. The bishop is running because daddy couldn't and this is his Kolob planet calling.

Seems absolutely right that Romney would listen to one of the biggest privacy thieves and power grabbers of the technology age. Perhaps Romney would like to add Bernarad Madoff to his team.

    blake
Rupert Murdoch, who cares what this man thinks? Romney is a shue in. Obama joins Jimmy Carter as one of the five most incompetent presidents in American history. And Obama tops the list as most dangerous president in American history.
    _________________________________________________________________________________________________

A perfect example of no intelligence. Carter created 10.5 million new jobs (annual rate of creation- 3.1%, higher than most presidents) and helped bring the debt down to it's lowest levels in years. Things like price controls and the Iran hostage crisis helped to bring down Carter. Reagan thought it would be awesome to bring the debt up again to waste on toys like SDI and give tax cuts to rich people and usher in a whole new culture of deregulation and lower wages. You must have been brought up on that right-wing myth of Reagan being some sort of god.

Romney being a "shue" in is laughable. This race is going to be close, but Obama has the upper hand. And the only people Obama is dangerous to is Al-Qaeda.

He will Generalize himself into losing because he is not a person of conviction on anything as we all understand now.

He really can’t take a definite stand because he does not Stand for anything, he will say and do whatever the audience wants him to say. It is only to bolster the base and nothing more. He is a Tea Party Puppet and has no real unchanging stance on anything..

He has flopped more than a fresh caught fish. He has earned the term – Etch a Sketch, it fits him to a tee.

To paraphrase former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, "Sometimes you have to go into and election with the Candidate you have instead of the Candidate you want." Conservatives are only grudgingly accepting Romney as their candidate, especially as all the other participants of "Conservative Idol", sorry, I mean the Republican Presidential Primaries, bombed.
