Washington (CNN) - The House Ethics committee announced Monday that it is launching a formal investigation of Nevada Democratic Rep. Shelley Berkley, a seven term House member who is running for a U.S. Senate seat.
Berkley is facing questions about whether her efforts to block a federal agency from closing a kidney transplant center at a Las Vegas hospital conflicted with congressional ethics rules. Her husband, Dr. Larry Lehrner, is a nephrologist and had a contract with the University Medical Center.

Why don't they sue Bush and dick Cheney for war crimes???GOP is a cult.
throw the bumb out...
I think the ethics com. should look in the mirror!
Have you noticed that the only thing to come from the House is "investigations" of Democrats? One might think they were using their position (tax funded) to play political games. Where are the real jobs bills – the ones without the political crap?
Is this group ever going do to anything about jobs? Or is it all just about "gotcha" and character assasination attempts? maybe they should check out michelle bachman and her doctor husband while they're at it so that it doesn't appear so political.
How bout an ethics inquiry of hilda solis labor secretary who happens to be vice pres of la raza
Issa and his group seem to have nothing but bad things to do. Send them home permanently. When was organ transplant bad? Don't tell Cheney his transplant might be looked down on by the House (repubs).
Can't wait to hear how this is Obama's fault...
The center is just a part of the overall and yes her husband is a specialist in that area of medicine. As a politician she can of course be accused of doing her bit just for her Husband, but in reality the staes population benefits fro keeping it open... she might be reprimanded for telling eveyone up front My husband works there, but I suspect that was not drove the final decision to keep it open and for sure the people making that decision would have well known her husband worked there.
Yet another political storm in a teacup distracting from the issues and policies of both parties, thats wht should decide who voters send back to Washington, not this matter of a depet in hospital.

Hodgson.
