RNC backing Romney with $5 million ad buy

(CNN) - The Republican National Committee will launch their first television advertisements in support of Mitt Romney Saturday, an RNC official said.

The $5 million ad buy will air beginning on Saturday in seven battleground states, the official said.

The largest buy is $1 million and will air in the key battleground state of Ohio.

The RNC is spending nearly as much in North Carolina and Virginia - $938,000 and $915,000.

The remainder of the buy is split between New Hampshire, Colorado, Iowa, and Nevada.

An RNC official told CNN that "The RNC's fundraising success has allowed us to add an independent expenditure in addition to fully funding the ground game.

"That the committee's financial situation would be this strong would have been unimaginable when Chairman Priebus took over," the official continued.

Romney's campaign and the major super PAC supporting his candidacy - Restore Our Future - has bought millions in television time this month.

This is a waste of money, credits to Andrew Sullivan:

"I think it's telling that the Romney campaign has not yet addressed these two core questions. But even its own line of response – to reiterate that even though Romney remained the formal CEO, he was completely AWOL – is now looking more tenuous with new data from HuffPo. In trying to fend off questions about his Massachusetts residency for the gubernatorial campaign, Romney stated that while he was running the Olympics "here were a number of social trips and business trips that brought me back to Massachusetts, board meetings, Thanksgiving and so forth. remained on the board of the Staples Corporation and Marriott International, the LifeLike Corporation.""

"Lifelike and Staples were Bain acquisitions. To repeat: Romney said he attended board meetings of Bain companies in a period in which Bain says he had "absolutely no involvement with the management or investment activities of the firm or with any of its portfolio companies." And this was under oath: "I returned for most of those meetings. Others I attended by telephone if I could not return.""

"So did Romney lie under oath or is Bain lying today?"

It's good that the republicans have tons of money because "buying the presidency" is the only way Romney will get elected. A sad commentary on politics in our country is that it all boils down to the almighty dollar.

I hope Romney actually competes for Pennsylvania. Don't just give it to Obama. Make him fight for it.
If Romney doesn't compete in Pennsylvania, than that means my vote (along with countless others) don't count.
Then why would I bother getting out to vote if my vote don't really count?

How come nobody in the liberally biased mainstream media pointed out that on June 6, 2012, instead of honoring D-Day veterans, the most incompetent, inept, corrupt, lying, union toady president in history, went to 3 fundraisers? Shows a lot about him and the corrupt, fraudulent, hypocritical party he represents.
