Hillary Clinton: Romney ads featuring her a 'waste of money'

(CNN) – She's been featured in two negative television ads from Mitt Romney's presidential campaign, but Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Monday the spots would have little effect on voters who already know the story of the 2008 Democratic primaries.

Speaking in Jerusalem at the tail end of a two week diplomatic trip, Clinton said in an interview with CNN Foreign Affairs Reporter Elise Labott the spots were a "waste of money."

"I am out of politics, and I haven't seen any of the ads that you're talking about," Clinton said. "But I have to say it's a waste of money. Everybody knows I ran against President Obama in 2008, that's hardly news. Everybody knows we ran a hard fought campaign and he won. And I have been honored to serve as his secretary of state."

Romney, engaged in a heated battle with Obama for the White House, has released two spots featuring Clinton from her 2008 Democratic primary battle with the then-Illinois senator. The first ad, released at the end of June, uses video of Clinton campaigning against candidate Obama in Cincinnati ahead of the 2008 Ohio primary.

Clinton accused Obama of "blatantly false" attacks against her in campaign mailers, which Romney used to highlight a fact check by the Washington Post calling one of Obama's current ads "misleading, unfair and untrue."

A second Romney spot, released last week, responds to one of Obama's latest slams that claims Romney's former private equity firm, Bain Capital, in part specialized in advising companies on 'outsourcing.'

The new ad recycles a quote from then-Sen. Hillary Clinton in 2008, when Clinton fired off on Obama over her opponent's latest round of blows.

"Shame on you, Barack Obama," Clinton says in the clip.

Can't wait for the DNC to put out an ad featuring all the disparaging comments against Romney from ALL the GOP candidates, the GOP establishment, and all the right-wing media outlets. What a fool Willard Romney is to open that can of worms.

Romney is wasting his donors' money and the time of the American People. He is a corporate puppet with no principles of his own. He is no leader and a failed Governor. He has invested all his wealth in other countries to hide it from paying taxes. Why would we want a President who is more invested in corporate welfare and foreign countries than in the American People and the welfare of the nation? Romney is not presidential in intelligence, government knowledge, concern for the People, or in his character, integrity, honesty or abilty to communicate with credibility. I stand with President Obama.

Give the Governor a break! He does not have any substance to talk about. What moron will listen to the policies that created the Great Recession and concentrated wealth within the top 1%. So this is what he has resorted to. Even if these ads will not have any impact whatsoever, it is okay for him to derive some false satisfaction thinking they will work running these meaningless ads.

All these Millionaire and Billionaire spending all this money on Mitt Romney and he doesn't even know what he talking about 95% of the Time. But these same people don't what to pay a little more In taxes. It seem to me that It would be Cheaper to pay a little more In taxes ,than what they are spending now. And most likely for a losing cause. Mitt Romney can't be trusted or he would show more of his tax return, the reason he won't Is that he hiding something from the American People and don't want any body to find out.

Time for ads featuring Romney's wife, but, that's dangerous business. She effectively uses her illness to deflect any detractors.

We don't know what Romney has been doing. What does his tax return really show? Why is he afraid to show them.

The problem is that Romney's campaign has been so negative from the get go against the other Republicans during the primary. It was either his campaign or his super PAC.

Whoooooeeeee - hearing about Adelson and his connections (and ownership of 2 casinos) in Communist China. Romney and Cantor might be smart to give those foreign money donations back. ha ha ha ha ha ha

Look up Macau, China and Adelson. You'll see.

What is Romney hiding? Really? This coming from supporters of Obama, the socialist egomaniac who crafted healthcare in secrecy with union heads and who paid off Nelson and Landriue? The same guy who used an executive order to cover up Fast and Furious? You have ZERO credibility when it comes to transparency!

Romney is being so secretive. I just know he will hide his college transcripts and deny he ever worshipped with Jeremiah Wright. I just know it. He is a lying sack.

Romney always wants to have it both ways. He implemented Obamacare version of healthcare in his own state, but he promises he will repeal Obamacare if he is president. He claims he had left Bain in 1999, yet to the SEC he claimed to be CEO of Bain in the few years after 1999.
Well sorry Mitt, you can have either this or that, but not both.

I would hate to be Romney. I predict that Bill Clinton will turn him inside out for saying that lol Just more misogyny on the conservative side, not to mention a possible corporate fraud based on a technicality concerning Bain...I can't wait for November. Obama 2012! We are moving forward whether you like it or not.
