Romney says no VP choice yet

(CNN) – Mitt Romney has not yet decided on his running mate, he told a crowd at a campaign town hall in Ohio Wednesday.

"I can assure you that even though I have not chosen the person who will be my vice president, that person will be a conservative, they will believe in conservative principles," Romney said in Bowling Green after being told by a questioner he needed to keep "an ear to the tea party" when making important decisions.

Speculation about who will be chosen as Romney's running mate has ramped up in the past several days as various reports emerge that he may be getting close to an announcement.

At one point in his rally Wednesday, Romney mentioned Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who some have speculated could be a choice for Romney's running mate. Rubio's name was met with cheers in the audience, with one man in the crowd shouting "Great choice!"

Romney used his town hall on Wednesday to hammer President Barack Obama for a remark, made last week, that business owners rely partly upon the government for their success.

"If you've been successful, you didn't get there on your own," Obama said at a rally in Roanoke, Virginia, on Friday. "There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business - you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen."

That remark, which Romney began using on the campaign trail Tuesday, became the centerpiece of his speech Wednesday. At one point in his remarks, Romney asked all business owners in the crowd to stand, thanking them for their hard work and chastising Obama for what he said was "the height of foolishness."

"It's like saying Steve Jobs didn't build Apple. Or Bill Gates didn't build Microsoft. Or that Henry Ford didn't build Ford Motor Company or that Ray Croc didn't build McDonalds or that Papa John didn't build Papa John's Pizza," Romney said.

Romney, citing the number of campaign fund-raisers Obama has held in the past six months, said the president's "priority is not creating jobs for the American people, his priority is trying to keep his own job and that's why he is going to lose it."

At one point during the questions and answer period, a woman asking Romney a question slammed Obama for policies she said were hurting her son's small business.

"He has a string of stores, and because of this awful economy that Obama's created, now he's had to lay off people and he may have to close some stores. And it's all because of what this monster has done to this country. We have to have you as president."

Romney said "monster" was "not the term that I would use," but that the woman "had every right to be angry."

Obama needs to just come OUT of the socialist closet and be honest with the American people about who he is and what he believes.
Can your fascist brain stop and absorb just one concept that doesn't come from Fox News? Now stay with me... Assume President Obama had some horrible secret or some evil plan... do you think the money available from the Koch brothers, Perry of "swift boat' fame, Donald Trump, and that Las Vegas pimp Adelson cpouldn't find? Granted they've never needed the actual truth, but don't you think those billionaires could uncover something that isn't a "birther"-level event? Now why don't we take a look at Mitt's tax returns?

    Hey, wait a minute.
The Republicans are making a whole lot of noise in an attempt to drown out Bain Capital and the tax return questions.

SOCIALISM: Remember it's Romney who has Swiss bank accounts and remember Switzerland is a Socialist country so before people go throwing around misinformation that President Obama is a Socialist then what does that make Romney.

"Romney says no VP choice yet"

The heck with that. What concerns me is "no tax returns yet".

  7. Vote the Tea Party OUT in 2012

take notice people...the more the far right and GOP fears that the president may be re-elected and Romney their puppet wil fail..the more hateful posts, names, and fear card will be coming out. Rush and Sununu started it yesterday and Sununu's so called apology was just a ruse. The FEAR CARD is used far more by the GOP than the RACE CARD and tends to be more effective because with the FEAR CARD you don't even need totell the truth just be NEGATIVE.

The press or the American public didn't buy that story. It was an obvious red herring to take attention away from what Willard is hiding from his taxes.

  10. tax returns really??

How is Romney's tax returns going to influence you on which guy is the best to represent this country? Who in there right mind would turn down a job that is offering millions of dollars as a salary? I know I would take it and you know you would do the same. He was hired to fulfill a job and he did it. It is sad to know that many Americans have to have a tax return to decide on who to vote for no matter what party you are for. Vote for the best guy available, not based on if he is a republican or democrat.

The fact that he doesn't want to let the world see his tax returns says a lot about what he is trying to hide.
The flip flopper is a first class liar. He has no integrity, character or morals.
It doesn't matter who his vp choice is because he is first class loser and there is nobody in the teapublikkkan party than can be better than him.
