Cleveland (CNN) - In the future, the Democratic National Committee will no longer use the Romney's Olympic-bound dressage horse to portray Mitt Romney as "dancing around the issues" because it could be seen as offensive to the GOP candidate's wife Ann.
Nearly 17 hours after they promoted a video linking the GOP presidential candidate's unwillingness to release years of tax returns to Rafalca, the dancing show horse co-owned by Mrs. Romney attending this summer's London Olympics, Communications Director Brad Woodhouse said the DNC will no longer "invoke the horse any further to avoid misinterpretation."

"Our use of the Romneys' dressage horse was not meant to offend Mrs. Romney in any way, and we regret it if it did," Woodhouse wrote in an e-mailed statement. "We were simply making a point about Governor Romney's failure to give straight answers on a variety of issues in this race."
By the end of the day Wednesday the DNC released two videos invoking Rafalca, one of the horses Mrs. Romney rides as part of her therapy for multiple sclerosis. One video highlighted Romney's tax returns and the other one focused on the auto bailout.
Mrs. Romney responded to the videos in a recent interview with ABC's "Good Morning America" which is set to air Thursday morning.
"It makes me laugh," Mrs. Romney said. "It's like 'Really?' You know, there's so many people out of work right now, and there's this guy right here that has the answers for fixing the economy, and all these attacks are going to be – they're going to try everything. They're going to throw spaghetti at the wall."
Woodhouse said the DNC has no plans to pull the two existing videos, so both will remain online. Other videos in the "series of digital products highlighting Rafalca" will not be released.
Jennifer Psaki, traveling press secretary for President Barack Obama, said Thursday on Air Force One that the president's re-election campaign had no involvement with the video and added they are “rooting for the Romney horse in London.”
ABC News first reported the DNC's decision to stop using the Romney horse in videos.

No reason not to use it. No one connects the horse to Mrs. Romney's MS. The sight of this particular horse in this particular venue is a powerful demonstration of how out of touch Romney is with the 99%.
Obama and Holder must be doing the Waltz! Where are the Fast and Furious Files? Romney's Tax returns do not implicate the murder of over 300 people. It is Obama who needs to stop dancing around the truth! As for the horse reference to Romney's Wife. Ever see Michelle's...oh never mind!
Rafalca, the magic Prancing pony that got Mitt a $77,000 tax write-off. Every American can relate to that.
Just as good as the one ad with Stiff Mitt singing America the Beautiful, this one with the horse was bad.

I would think that Ann would appreciate the free publicity.
I personally thought that it was a brilliant metaphor on the part of the Democrats.
Romney does indeed dance/prances around the issues; and in regards to content he's proven to be nothing but a show horse for the Koch brothers and everyone else involved in trying to buy him the presidency.
Obama 2012. Because Obama is a work horse for the middle class not a show horse for millionaires.
So why don't you stop telling your lies about Bain and start telling the voters how you are going to fix our economy and call the health bill what it is the largest tax increase to the middle class.
It seems that all you can do is play the blame game and continue to have class warfare.
We want the debt to go down, all of our laws enforced not just the laws you want enforced, and a leader who can lead by example and not just try and get votes.
You want Congress to pass your so called jobs bill how about you have everyone pay taxes not just a few but every US Citizen and all the illegal people too. You continue to make me ashamed to be an American with all of your no leadership and out of control spending we will wind up just like Greece if you don't stop the spending.
"It makes me laugh" .... "and there are so many people out of work right now " ... of course she doesn't get it and never will. We have an economy rigged for the ultra-wealthy and her husband's proposed policies want to make it MORESO. Congress will quibble and fight over tax policy this fall (thank heavens the Bush tax bill had an expiration!) and most fighting will be about who bears the burden for government costs. And the Romneys can deduct $77000 from their taxes for the dancing horse. She REALLY doesn't get it ...
Asking legitimate answers to questions we have about Romney is throwing spaghetti at the wall? The man its running his entire campaign on his business prowess and financial abilities but now we are noticing that he is being secretive about both his business AND his finances.
BTW Ann, thanks for deducting $77,000 (more than most families see in a year) for your stupid dancing horse. I'm glad that despite being a multimillionaire the lower and middle class footed the bill for your ballet horse.
Poor bullyl bishop, his prep school didn't teach proper grammar? "there's so many people out of work right now,"
Yes, flip flopper, there IS(sic) so many people out of work and you were instrumental in thousands losing their jobs.
When you have a horse that is tortured (see story of what they do to these horses but then again he and his wife seem to like abusing animals) and you receive a tax credit of $77,000 (more than a LOT of people make a year) for said horse the country needs to know that only you, the super rich, can afford such a horse while so many others don't have a roof over their heads or food on the table for their kids!
Give me a break. Nothing is wrong with the video. Willard needs to man up and grow a pair. He's bobbing and weaving any questions about his taxes. So in satire, he's "dressaging" around the questions. SHOW US YOUR PAPERS!!!
The DNC is worried that if they keep showing the horse on TV, the exposure might actually get it nominated for Vice-President.
