For Democrats, gun politics are bad politics

(CNN) - The sun was barely up when New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg used the Colorado massacre to scold President Obama and Mitt Romney for ignoring the gun issue.

"This is a real problem. No matter where you stand on the Second Amendment, no matter where you stand on guns, we have a right to hear from both of them concretely," Bloomberg argued.

Why is this being spun as a Democratic problem? Why aren't the articles being spun to show how anti-gun control Republicans are hated by many for blocking reasonable sensible efforts to contain blossoming gun violence?

Slightly Left of Center claims armed security details protect politicians and trhat there are never massacres at shooting ranges, but fails to point out that the most heavily protected president in history was shot at close range while surrounded by a phalanx of gun toting Secret Servicemen and just recently a shooting range patron shot himself to death just taking his gun out of the car barrel first. Get real. The problem isn't anti-gun Democrats, the problem is anti gun control Republicans.

Guns kill when stupid, scared people use them. Maybe an IQ test for gun ownership is in order. And certianly stiffer penalties for thsoe that use themin a crime. Pot put one kid away for life. But use a gun and you can be out on the streets in months. No common sense in that.

Well here we go again. Blame the president as if any other president has ever done anything about the gun laws/ Bloomberg needs to shut up. what a hypocrit stealing another term and changing his party to suit whoever the major voters would be. He flip flops as much as Mitt, Glad he's leaving. Talk about transparency....or non transparency

The reason behind the 2nd amendment, was for the PEOPLE, to protect themselves and our form of government from a tyrant or dictatorship. Take the guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens and watch out for every dictatorial creep in the world take over America. In most all of the cases where killings, both massive or singular, had there been just one armed person or the victim been armed, the perpetrator, would have either been dead or run off. How long, do you think a police officer would stay alive, without being armed. He, dosn't have to fear the law abiding citizen, only the ones that would break the law. Why does Bloomberg, have to have an armed body guard? Because, of the criminal element, that would think nothing of taking his life, just for the fun of it. Criminals will always find a way of praying on the weak or unarmed. had rather have my trusty ol 45, on my side, then to trust, that there will be a cop there when I need protection. I had rather see every citizen, carrying a nice firearm in his/her wastband as a deterrent and protection of both, themselves and the unprotected around them.
