Fundraising spike follows Bachmann's controversial charges against Clinton aide

(CNN) – Rep. Michele Bachmann's controversial charges against a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appears to have paid off in the form of money flowing into her re-election campaign.

According to her campaign, the Minnesota Republican raised over one million dollars in a 25 day period in July – the same time that controversy brewed over a letter she sent with four other GOP Members to the State Department Inspector General, requesting an investigation into Huma Abedin's ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Many Republican leaders, including Sen. John McCain and House Speaker John Boehner rebuked Bachmann for pointing a finger at Abedin, who has worked for Clinton since she was first lady.

The rebuke from the GOP leadership does not seem to have deterred her supporters, just the opposite. The million dollar July fundraising boon is about $400,000 above her monthly average from the second quarter of this year, according to Federal Election Commission filings.

"This incredible outpouring of support demonstrates the trust Minnesotans have placed in Representative Bachmann," Campaign Manager Chase Kroll said in an e-mail to supporters. "We still have a radical, liberal, self-funding opponent who has demonstrated his willingness to pour huge sums into this race."

Her constituents must be some of the stupidest people in the United States. How anybody can take this woman seriously is beyond me. She is a total nutjob not worthy of being in Congress (she is barely worthy of being an American).

So that's what all that nonsense was about.......she just wanted to shake some bucks loose from the nuts that sent her to Congress in the first place. So there is a method to her madness.......

now you see why she's consistenly "bearing false witness"....strictly to take all of the sucker's money. Remember when Cain was exposed and immediately following that had millions in support given to his campaign.......I hope they give blowpop stamps for the donators foreheads, because they sure are suckers!

Think for this one minute......where did all the monies go that the 12 candidates received? I wonder why conservatives don't see this, but can see that Obama was "gon' take ur guns".....but didn't see the ammo and gun makers/sellers take all of their money, even had people believing that Obama was taxing ammo, thus the price was higher.......Amazing.

What political roadside bomber bachmann needs to reveal is how much money she and husband stashed into swiss banks -and since when, which she tried to cover up with the "I'm a Swiss Citizen" annoauncement a while back. Was that a way not to have to declare, or give cover for having such accounts in violation of IRS regs?

Hate mongrels have no problems raising money from the afraid of anyone who looks different, talks funny, ain't from around here mentality. It's very sad and concerning that Bachmann stokes these fires for her own self gain....there is no good that I can see from this kind of political madness!!!

This woman is not a good woman at all. Useing GOD for advocateing money & Power and control is evil no question about it. What comes around goes around. When her day comes it's not going to be with-out pain and sufferage delt by the hand of GOD witch she herself uses in vein. The Power & Greed is not of Jesus Christ and allot of people use GOD and his work for the wrong reasons buy justify it in their own sick mind. And it is a sickness. The bible says that God & the Devil can look like the same man. Saitan is in the house of God always trying and trying to work against God. Michelle Bachmann is your perfact example of that.

They need to investigate Mrs. Bachmann's gay conversion therapy center. Considering who her husband is and their life style when wonders what is going on in her personal life.

It shows you how many people are still predjudiced in America that they would condemn someone without evidence. That is the Republican party today. And they believe the likes of Bachmann. This is so very sad.

Not all Minnesotans trust her. She's only won elections in the 6th district. She would never win a statewide election!

In the long run.....this one is on her way out. Of course she's gonna see a spike. There is always a large suplus of mean, nasty, miserable little people always ready to jump on a racist's bandwagon. "Finally...a way to try to prop my own miserable self up by dumping on others." Look at how Arizona brought all the closet racists out of their dark little rooms. As I said.....this one is on her way out. Good Riddance.

Minnesotans must be desperate to elect this woman. Bachman raises a non issue and essentially attacks a member of Hillary's staff for no reason other than Bachman must need some attention. Her supporters donate money to her campaign because she raises a question that doesn't need asking. What about all the important issues we face? On second thought, keep it up Michelle. We don't need you in the House interfering with more important matters.
