Romney aide loses cool, curses at press in Poland

Warsaw, Poland (CNN) - The traveling press secretary for Mitt Romney lost his cool and cursed at reporters who attempted to ask questions of the Republican presidential candidate in a public plaza near the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw Tuesday.

After Romney paid his respects to Poland's war dead and shook hands with a small gathering of the nation's military veterans, the GOP contender walked approximately 100 yards away from the memorial as he chatted with Warsaw's mayor.

As Romney made his way to his vehicle, reporters attempted to shout questions to the candidate. The former Massachusetts governor, who has answered only three questions from his traveling press corps during a week-long overseas trip, ignored the queries. Romney did sit down for multiple interviews during his foreign swing, including with CNN's Piers Morgan and Wolf Blitzer. Romney also spoke with NBC News, CBS News, ABC News and Fox News during his trip.

When members of the press tried to ask Romney about some of the mishaps on his trip, his traveling press secretary Rick Gorka verbally dressed down reporters.

Here's a transcript of the questions and Gorka's response:

CNN: "Governor Romney are you concerned about some of the mishaps of your trip?

NYT: "Governor Romney do you have a statement for the Palestinians?

Washington Post: "What about your gaffes?

NYT: "Governor Romney do you feel that your gaffes have overshadowed your foreign trip?"

CNN: "Governor Romney just a few questions sir, you haven't taken but three questions on this trip from the press!

Gorka: "Show some respect"

NYT: "We haven't had another chance to ask a question..."

Gorka: "Kiss my ass. This is a Holy site for the Polish people. Show some respect."

Moments later, Gorka told Jonathan Martin, a reporter for Politico, to "shove it." About a half-hour later, the aide called reporters to apologize.

Gorka's comments to the media came just hours before Romney's foreign policy speech in Warsaw.

Aides to the GOP candidate say Romney visited Poland to highlight the nation's growing economy and honor its contributions to the war in Afghanistan.

Maybe the aide should have showed some respect with his words. But, we should probably cut the aid some slack as it must be pretty exhausting to work for someone who keeps stepping in it.

Well it's finally about time... The press in the US is a disgrace, biased and I think have a 12% favorability rating... Guess this is what happens when people stop acting as impartial reporters and start fabricating the news. Good for that guy telling them to shove it as that is what most of the American people wish they had a chance to do!

Truly presidential. He cannot answer any questions but he can certainly throw stones and criticize things he and his staff no nothing about. This man is an embarrassment and an epic failure.

The telling point is who the "Press" is; CNN, NYT and the Washington Post. Those Obama cheerleaders need to be told to "shove it" as all they're looking for is sound bites to give to the DNC for attack commercials. Anybody remember how long Obama went between press conferences before he started for running re-election?

What the aide said, while offensive and vulgar, was not a curse.

Bullies, Bullies, Bullies, he has picked the right team. As we now know, he has the schrubs neocons in full force. I think the American people are going to send him and his wife a message, we ain't buying his charlatan snake oil message. It's either Iran or Russia who is our Number1! threat. We can't have two Number 1 threats. Maybe its because he has two sets of books, and he keeps getting mixed up.

Seems like the GOP have finally figured out that Mittens is (almost) better seen than heard. Between his verbal gaffes and his (anoyingly) constant smirking, while addressing the media or the public – this man has little charisma next to President Obama. (And I say this as a Canadian)

Here's a conspiracy theory that just might be true.

Romney was planted by Obama to make sure Obama wins.

Typical, look like a toolbag overseas, and lash out at the reporters for asking why you suck at what you do. Gorka is a arrogant little punk, has the spoiled brat rich character at his 30s. Go back to counting your hidden money

Good...these slime ball journOlist members are all creeps. What's the point in answering questions for papers that are in the bag already for the other guy in the race? Notice how they focused on Romney's gaffes, but also notice how Romney so far has been proven right regarding the horrible job London is doing with the Olympics. Empty seats, empty streets, athletes families getting snubbed and not allowed in events, horrible coverage, the list goes on and on but you won't hear one peep out the press corps who salivate at the thought of Obama.
