Yeah, I forgot that Mr. Romney is not really worried about poor people!
Show us your tax returns, so we can see how much "welfare" you got from the government in the form of tax cuts and breaks... Mr. Loophole!

Good call. This is a significant step backward in welfare reform. The reason it is being done right now? It's election year and Obama/ Biden 2012 is being greedy buying votes with poor decisions against the vast majority of Americans. People need to understand this is such a pathetic and poor decision by a desperate politician, unfortunately our sitting President.

Romney is lying. Does this guy ever read anything, or does he just rely on other people's interpretation of the
truth. Is this how he would be as President? Wow, not a chance!

I like republican liars as much as the next person, but Mittens is the world's worst when it comes to telling the truth. I thought Mormons would go to hell for lying. Beware of the Mormon Brotherhood.

  6. More Lies From Republican Governors

In 2005, Republican Governors from 29 states requested more flexibility in implementing welfare work requirements. They asked Congress for “increased waiver authority, allowable work activities, availability of partial work credit” in order to “effectively serve low-income” Americans according to their states’ needs. One of these governors was Mitt Romney of Massachusetts. Mitt even provided a "Car Ownership Program," a project he spearheaded during his time as governor of Massachusetts. Under the plan, welfare recipients were provided with cars, insurance coverage, and AAA memberships.

Last month, 2 more Republican governors from Utah and Nevada again requested flexibility in implementing work requirements and applied for waivers to certain rules. The Obama administration agreed with the Republican governors.

Now Mitt Romney is accusing President Obama of gutting welfare reform. Lies, lies, and more lies from the Romney campaign.

At this point, why are we not surprised that Romney is attacking Obama for allowing Governor Romney of Massachusetts and his 30+ fellow Republican governors what they asked him for? Mind-numbing stupidity and hypocrisy at its absolute finest! But the idiot Republican base will eat this crap up and swallow it whole and blame Obama for something the Republicans requested in writing.

I think Mitt needs to see a psychiatrist. these lies are just plain laughable. Next he'll tell us Obama ran Bain, and that Bush was the first black President.

RNC is starting to lose its grips on reality. Oh, by the way.. we haven't forgot...

  8. The Hypocrisy and Lies from the Romney Hood

The waivers were requested by Republican Governors and they DO NOT do away with the work requirement; they just allow the states more flexibility in how they shift welfare recipients into jobs. This is federalism, something Mitt Romney says that he stands for and what Mitt Romney actually signed a letter along with 29 other Republican Governors and asked for.

This is also hypocrisy at its absolute mind-numbing best. Let's not come unhinged about something we actually requested from Congress, okay Romney Hood? You're only making yourself look like a complete man puppet.

This is another Romney lie. The Feds are giving some flexibility to States (that Romney requested as Governor of Mass). However they also require that States show they will increase employment by 20%. THE AD IS RACIST. IT SHOWS ONLY WHITE PEOPLE IMPLYING THAT THE OTHER PEOPLE (OBAMA BLACKS/HISPANICS ET AL) ARE GAINING AT THE EXPENSE OF WHITE PEOPLE. IT'S DISGUSTING AND AN OLD GOP PLOY TO USE WELFARE RECIPIENTS FOR POLITICAL GAIN. Come on CNN call this what it is. You seem so easy on Romney but quickly call into question Obama-related ads.

As a governor, Romney requested these very changes.

Poor willard. Still hasn't figured out that he has no credibility with the American people! That's too bad. Here he's telling another "romney hood" lie. He (and many of his fellow republican governors OBTW) has signed a request for a waiver when he was governor of MA asking for exactly what he is now trying to bash the president for. It's in WRITING WILLARD!!! COPIES HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO ALL MEDIA OUTLETS. Unless, of course, you went back and retroactively withdrew that request???

Pres. Obama is actually giving power back to the states to implement their own welfare/work programs–the very same kind of changes Romney has supported himself.

Can media please hold Romney's lies and hypocrisy more accountable? It is easy to research.

Just another flip-flop from Mittens. He was before it before he was against it. Not fit to lead. The media really should ignore Willard until we get those tax returns. Put up or shut up Willard

The welfare reform is for the states to have more say in getting people on welfare back to work., Even Romney requested it when he was governor. Another lie for romney

This does not fit with the facts, is nothing more or less than Romney wanted but gingrich evidently did not listen to in the Clinton era and politifact rates this attack pants on fire.
End of blog attack car return this card where it belongs in the baloney bag and garbage.
This campaign gets more and more pathetic by the minute.

Heard an interesting point of view regarding this... Romney wants to, so desperately, get people off his case with the taxes that he is willing to attack TANF and the poor that use it. Obama introduced the changes according to what Romney originally wanted with states rights. But I guess the poor are going fine... right? Not gonna work Romney... still wanna see the taxes.

Another incredible charge coming from Bishop Romney. Is this what Mormonism is all about?. Fabrications and distortions. While Romney might think he's making campaign progress, distorting facts, he is slowly sliding into a political pit where every utterance and action he engages in would be viewed with mockery, skepticism, self ridicule, and a grain of salt. There's a limit you can twist facts without incurring resentment and disfavor, and Romney's crossing the line. He will eventually fall on his own sword.

Romney must think ALL people are stupid! He just does it again and again – misstating what the President does. It must be frustrating for Romney when the Democrats do one good thing after another and Romney has nothing to set against it…

Where are the tax returns? Show them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is so wrong. Once again tell half of the story to suit your needs.
To make another point about this country club twit if anyone might need welfare at present it's probably because you took their jobs overseas while you were not running bain from 1999 to 2002 but you were still signing papers for the company before you decided to retroactively resign.
It's enough to make your brain hurt when you think about what this guy has said/done and now says he didn't say or did.

Obama's economic policy drives a welfare state. I truly believe this is his agenda giving him total power as seen in several socialist countries. History is repeating itself only this time in a once great, free nation.
