BREAKING: Romney to announce vice presidential pick Saturday
(CNN) - Presumptive Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will announce his vice presidential candidate Saturday at an event in Virginia, his campaign said.
Romney called several of the Republicans on his vice presidential shortlist on Friday evening to tell them he has selected a running mate and to thank them for assisting with his campaign, a Republican familiar with the calls told CNN.
Romney did not indicate who he selected as his running mate, according to the source.

The Paul Ryan plan guts Medicare and Social Security to pay for more tax cuts for the rich.
Romney just lost the race.
Well, if Ryan is the pick we'll at least get the details of how Romney intends to shaft the middle class.
Romney made a mistake in picking Ryan. He may get his base support from some tea party members but will lose support of the old people on medicare. Which is 40% of the voters. Whether it's a good choice or bad is based on perspective of an individual. Specially it makes no sense picking some one who supports tax cuts for millionaires but cutting the budget on the backs of seniors by turning the medicare in to a voucher based privatize system. Romney just sealed his failure. GOP has lost it's way. They do not represent a average American instead only the rich and the big corporations.

Was it necessary to announce this as Breaking News on NBC during the Olympics? Really? This is still speculation, not news, and I do NOT appreciate NBC allowing this ridiculous "advertisement" for the GOP during the games. Oh, and I couldn't care less who his running mate is. OBAMA all the way!

I luv it! The Obamacrats have nothing, but psycotic and paranoid views about both. This is gonna be good. Ryan tore Odrama up and now you will see Odramacrats in an uproar. You didn't think he was gonna pick a VP that was Demo-friendly did you? The attacks started right away for a good reason. Both 'M.Rom' and 'P.Ry' were exactly what the Dems were worried about. Policy will take a front seat now and Dems scrambled early,lol.
They called both Ryan and Romney murderers and now they can't back out of their delusional views about both. Open mouth and insert foot. The Obamacrats should have done their homework. These guys already have a thought out policy together and Joedrama has nothing. This is as good as it gets.

This pick might satisfy the right, but im not sure how the independents will feel at election time.
Oddly enough, Paul Ryan (hard right) as president, with Mitt Romney (with prior centrist tendencies) may have even appealed to more people.
