(CNN) - A closer look at Rep. Paul Ryan from CNN Chief Political Analyst Gloria Borger.
When you consider all the Wisconsin baggage Ryan carries, Obama just won the election.
You do not win elections because of you VP choice, it can really be a liability. GOP is really in trouble.
Not at all surprised at Romney's pick. At least everyone in this country will know exactly what to expect in his administration...The rich get richer, free reign on business to get us into another mess, the destruction of the middle class, (and higher taxes on them), nothing for the poor. Most galling is Ryan's "Budget" that does not come into alignment for 29 years; long after he and his President have left office. People will have only themselves to blame if they get in. Ryan, unlike Romney, has been very clear what to expect.
Finally, the Republicans eviscerate the Health Care Law when in fact it was first proposed by a Heritage Foundation position paper in 1989. When talking about deficit reduction, the law actually brings down the deficit in the first 10 years (according to the Congressional Budget Office) with greater savings in the next 10 years out!
So we have a Republican VP Candidate "proposing" a budget that does nothing except run more deficits, opposes a Heritage Foundation health care law, wants to fundamentally change middle income programs, destroy Social Security and Medicare and who knows what to the poor in the name of fiscal discipline. This is not my idea of Emma Lazarus's words on the Status of Liberty, "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" . This is the definition for RomneyHood!
Here goes the end of Medicare and medicaid. As Ryan and Romney says it " you are on your own" . This two together is a disaster to our part to recovery . Talking about spending, it was the republican party that waisted the country's surplus on a preposterous war. People, do not forget how we got into this mess and under whose administration it was. We need to move forward towards recovery and not backwards to another economic disaster .
