Miami, Florida (CNN) - Mitt Romney sidestepped questions Monday about any differences he and Paul Ryan might have on Medicare reform.
"We haven't gone through piece by piece and said 'oh, here's a place where there's a difference,'" Romney told reporters on an airplane tarmac in Miami. "I can't imagine any two people even in the same party who have exactly the same positions on all issues. but my plan for Medicare is very similar to his plan for Medicare."

Romney's views on the government health care program came under renewed scrutiny after he chose Ryan to be his running mate Saturday. Ryan, the House Budget chairman, authored a Republican budget plan that proposed overhauling the popular entitlement program for the generations younger than 55 who are not yet enrolled.
Democrats have attacked that proposal, saying Ryan - and now by extension, Romney - would dismantle Medicare.
In the past Romney has voiced his support for Ryan's plan, but an internal memo leaked to CNN pointed out to surrogates that Romney's and Ryan's plans differed.
On a visit to Florida Monday, Romney found himself besieged by reporters' questions on the issue. But he would not describe any differences he and Ryan had on the program or whether voters were ready for the kind of overhaul Ryan had suggested.
"I can't tell you about the politics of something like the Medicare issue but I can tell you about the truth," Romney said. "And the truth is we simply cannot simply continue to pretend like a Medicare on track to go bankrupt at some point is acceptable. We must take action to make sure that we can save Medicare for coming generations."

How about the House and Senate members(especially Paul Ryan) convert their retirement and medical plans to mirror Social Security and medicare before they can vote to make policy changes. If we get some sort of little voucher to go to the Doctor and no Rx coverage, so should they. :/
Romney is a empty suit. He won't name differences, Please!
Social Security built Paul Ryan. Ryan's father died when he was 16, and Ryan then received Social Security survivors benefits until he was 18. He was able to save his Social Security to help pay for college. Ryan likes to talk about how he used loans to pay for college, but the fact that he went in with a big chunk of savings thanks to Social Security is something he doesn't emphasize quite as much.
Ryan needs to get his own Etch-A-Sketch so he can erase all of the "visions" he's offered to make the rich even richer and make the middle-class really poor! What a pathetic ticket this new Republican Party has produced!
Wow... The salesman response. "I can't tell you what you're gonna get, but it will be just great. Trust me..."
Not a chance, Mittens! Show us your tax returns then we'll decide how far to trust...
A quote from the internet worth repeating. ProgrissiveEconomist states, " The Medicare Advantage cuts are in payments to providers, NOT in the healthcare benefit services guaranteed to seniors by Medicare law. It's essentially a cut in extra corporate profits extracted from Medicare thanks to a Bush-era corporate welfare program. By reducing overpayments to vendors but maintaining benefits to seniors, the ACA cuts actually STRENGTHEN guaranteed health benefits to seniors.
In comparison, the proposed Ryan budget cuts actual benefits to seniors, while expanding corporate welfare for health insurers. Ryan would guarantee payment of a certain amount per senior to each insurance vendor, while completely removing Medicare's guarantee of actual health services for seniors. "
The truth will set you free, not conservative politicians.
Because there are no differences. Release the tax returns.
"... but my plan for Medicare is very similar to his plan for Medicare.” Sir, politically you sleep between the same sheets with Ryan now. And your Medicare plan will simply move the costs from the Fed to the states. Same number of people will get sick and be treated in the same healthcare system with the same spiraling costs.
As I sais before, it will be Ryan running the show and Romney will be standing behind Ryan not unlike Cheney and Dubya.
Romney will be the Vice President.
We need scientific , not political approach to rectify the medicare system.
Seniors are already able to choose plans other than traditional Medicare – it's called Medicare Advantage. How does Ryan's vouchers differ from Medicare Advantage which is administered by private companies already? I can only surmise that the voucher program prevents the government from having any input or requirements over those plans which will allow the insurance companies to sell plans to seniors which provide less benefits and carry more out-of-pocket expenses for the policyholder. Isn't that what insurance companies are already providing to those of us under 55 already? Since we're already used to having crappy insurance and high out-of-pocket expenses, Ryan figures those of us under 55 have been prepped to expect $5000.00 deductibles which we cannot pay on our stagnant salaries. Imagine trying to pay a $5000.00 deductible on your fixed Social Security income of $1,600.00 a month. Their goal is to reduce the ability of future seniors to use any healthcare until you're on your deathbed at which point they can cash in on any remaining assets you may have left if any. Talk about Death Panels!!
Voucher Oucher!! If Ryan's voucher program is so great, then why not offer it to current retirees? Is he concerned that they will see right through this deception? Or does he think they are so self-absorbed or senile that they have no cares or concern for the under 55 future seniors who are their children and grandchildren?
So Romney what are you going to do? I know its a secret only for those who are allow in your secret room. The people are not suppose to know about such matters because it is over our heads. RELEASE YOUR TAXES, and TELL US YOUR POSITIONS ON ISSUES.
Romney Hood and Ryan are a disaster! Republicans have middle class people with parents/grand parents who depend on Medicare/Social Security too. Who's going to take care of them if these two win??? LOL. Better be careful what you wish for!
King Tabby Nackle Bisop Romney says he is much too good to show those Non – millionaire peasants his Past Returns.

Really? This from the guy who carefully vetted his VP (just like he carefully hides his taxes), and he expects us to believe he didn't carefully read Ryan's plan for Medicare? IF they want to run on the lies of fiscal responsibility, fine, have at it – but please don't try and take the American voters for stupid. I just can't and won't be treated like that.
Romney is completely incapable of taking a stand. I'm an independent voter and the best he can do is "vote for me because the other guy hasn't done good enough in my opinion." Come join the grown-up table Mitt and speak specifics on issues. If Obama can take a bold stance or two (like gay marriage, health care) you can give it the old college try and plant at least one flag in the ground. You have done more tap dancing in this cycle than Fred Estaire did in all his years.
Yo ryan, yes Romney, you & I both had a free Pass with an Education on a Silver Platter along with our Silver Spoons. Let us both SCREW the middle class families & take away their Loans & Grants for College & give that money to our Filthy rich friends. Good Idea Mittster, for they are such peasants who should be denied any help whatsoever from our wonderful Class. richie rich romney & Richie Rich Ryan 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!
The reason Romney won't say the differences on Medicare is because Romney will let Ryan make the decisions on both Medicare & Social Security. Romney believes Ryans plan is the best plan. So that means Mediare will be severly cut and Social Security will go to Wallstreet and they will make the final decissions on it's excistance .
Wonder if they compared taxes???
Mitt Romney Mitt Romney sidestepped questions Monday about any differences he and Paul Ryan might have on Medicare reform.
Romney is good at sidestepping !
Show us your taxies !
Republicans just look what you have done... You've found a way to nominate a foolish, spoiled man with no actual ideology and gave him a partner who wants to trash Medicare and Social Security! Is anybody left in the Republican Party with a functioning brain cell? This election if over and you've made fools of what used to be some practical, rational conservatives. It's now a cult of radical anarchists who have no real solutions for anything! They won't even let us see their tax returns – proving they have something horrible to hide!
Of course he won't. He knows he'll be flip flopping all the way through election day!
Show the AMERICAN PEOPLE your TAXES!
I would like to see all govt Congressmen have Medicare instead of their Cadillac packages and see how they vote.
Now wait a minuite...Didn't Mitt call Ryans plans 'marvelous?" Yeseree Bob he did. That's the danger here. Mitt will be overshadowed by Ryan which will make him look even worse than he already does. He was right on when he introduced Ryan as "the next president of the United States." Except, that's not gonna happen either.
