Video: CNN's King catches up with Ryan

(CNN) - Rep. Paul Ryan has been the GOP vice presidential nominee since Saturday, but has already become a lightning rod on the campaign trail.

CNN Chief National Correspondent John King caught up with Ryan at the Iowa State Fair and asked the candidate about how Democrats are seizing on his controversial Medicare plan.

"We'll play all these issues later," Ryan said. "We'll play stump the running mate later. Our job is to strengthen and protect Medicare. That's what we do. President Obama, they're raiding and ultimately rationing Medicare. We'll deal with these issues later though."

Considering who is Obama's VP I can see why Obama would be jealous.

Blitzer keeps saying Ryan's plan would NOT affect those over 55. However, the Kaiser Family Foundation reported that Ryan's plan would, on passage, immediately reinstate the drug "doughnut hole" which WOULD affect, rather significantly, everyone INCLUDING those over 55. Who's right?

Translation: "I'm sorry. I'm not ready for prime time. Please give me a couple weeks to get the campaign's talking points and lies memorized. Sure, the ACA cuts provider reimbursement whle my vouchers directly attenuate the amoutn of benefits received, but I'm still going to claim that it's Obama's, not my plan, that will restrict access to services. Now, that's all I will say...I have to go do my homework."

Mr., Ryan, "we'll play all the issues later:"? First, these are life and death matters for many old people. We do not appreciate your effort to turn them into a game. Second, What do you mean "later"? You used to be decisive. Now, you have contracted MItt Timid Syndrome.

Political facts say that nothing will happen to Social Security for those over the age of 55 now. So I am believing them.

Kaiser is. You have to understand that part of what comes out of the mouths of people like Blitzer HAS TO be regurgitation of the party-line talking points from both sides. If a network bobblehead uses facts, evidence, expert studies or historical record to speak absolute truth...or at least utter something that directly contradicts a keystone talking opint from one side or the other...they will be immediately labelled biased. Most often this involves having to accept things like the "this won't affect people over 55" talking point at face value and pretending that there isn't actually some nuance under the hood that makes the statement more than a bit untrue.

Ryan hasn't had time to Etch-A-Sketch the lies yet. He plans to kill Medicare.

Ryan is probably very good for the base, but the Republicans were not going to vote for Obama anyway. However, Ryan is to extreme for most independents I fear.

According to the Ryan plan it is true no one born prior to 1958 would be affected by his Medicare change.

It however, is NOT true that folks currently of Medicare age would not be affected.

The Ryan plan gives "vouchers" for Medicaid assistance to states, and two thirds of Medicaid spending is spent on indigent elderly care for folks CURRENTLY in nursing homes.

Assuming the same $6,500 voucher amount for Medicaid as Medicare and that will get Granny about 2 months of nursing care.

What about the other 10 months?

So, then, does Granny's loved ones give her a loaded gon and explain the GOP's "Plan B"?

If Obama presented something like the "Ryan Budget Plan" he'd lose my vote quick fast and in a hurry because Ryan's budget plan is no more than a "Holocaust" against the most vunerable Americans and trust me, he won't stop there.

"President Obama, they're raiding and ultimately rationing Medicare."

Falsely claims Obama is rationing Medicare... proposed a budget to actually ration Medicare.

I see that they are NOW calling it by its name, Medicare. Just a few months/weeks ago it was "entitlements" as if none of us had ever put money towards a decent retirement, if you call $12,000 living money and healthcare in our old age.
    They are pathetic!

(CNN) – Rep. Paul Ryan has been the GOP vice presidential nominee since Saturday, but has already become a lightning rod on the campaign trail.
This is good and exactly playing into Mitt Romney's strategy at least for the campaign that Ryan's choice helps. Think about it. Obama/ Biden 2012 has to come out and start bashing Ryan. It's all they have and they need to use everything possible because 1) They are not going to run on their record over the last 3 1/2 years. In fact they are running FROM their record over the last 3 1/2 years with as many excuses as they can fabricate. 2) They are not running on a plan forward because they have no new plan. Nothing. and 3) They have beat to death anything else they could fabricate, like class warfare, Bain Capital ( debunked ), and the supposed 'war on women'.

But Romney/ Ryan 2012 will win on the real issues. A plan to help create 12 million jobs, a better plan for how to bring the economy back, how to get control of government spending and debt and a commitment to reduce taxes for every American worker by 20%. This is what Americans want, not more excuses and a pathetic negative campaign.

Ryan's answer shows his arrogance and belief that he can talk down to the media and the American people. We all know what he has proposed and it is not the reporters fault he is not ready with spin. Asking a question is not an attempt to stump the candidate. Ryan has confused himself with your own lies. The GOP ridiculous candidate parade continues.
