Akin tells Huckabee he's staying in race

(CNN) - Republican Rep. Todd Akin of Missouri said Tuesday he is staying in the race for the U.S. Senate despite calls from across the political spectrum for him to drop out because of controversial comments about rape and pregnancy.

"I want to make one thing absolutely clear. We are going to continue with this U.S. Senate race," Akin said.

What I find interesting about this discussion is that Akin says something foolish and offensive this one time. And based on that he is skewered by leftists and showered with lies and distortions. The left could have used this as a teaching moment but all I've seen from them is a politically correct lynch mob, bent on destroying a man not because of the stupid thing he said this one time, which he apologized for, but for his political views differ from them.

Obama/Biden – We Wanna Put Government Chains on Y'ALL:
Take a deep breath Sir/Madam, Democrats are not trying to run this man out of the race. It's members of his own party running him out. They didn't want their backward thinking to be revealed this early. Hard to un-ring the bell especially when Mr. Paul Ryan sponsored a bill with Mr. Akin to re-define the meaning of rape. The Republican war to return women to the Victorian age is alive and well.

James, this isn't the 1st time apparently. But that's hardly the point. What have leftists (must be a Dennis Prager fan) lied about or what have they distorted? Your own party seems to be the only folks wanting him to drop out. Why aren't you mad at them? Democrats want him to stay in the race.

But none of that is as important as your misguided belief and fake hurt feelings. Another whoa is us conservatives. What about Romney and other conservatives lying and distorting the welfare reform issue? Or the many other issues they have earned the pants on fire awards for? No teachable moments to be had?
