Reggie Love: Obama leads like he plays

Tampa, Florida (CNN) - Reggie Love, the man by President Barack Obama's side for two years in the White House, said the president leads like he plays basketball.

In an exclusive interview with CNN Chief White House Correspondent Jessica Yellin, Love said the president is a competitor above all else.

"He's a competitor, and I think when you compete ... you can't spend all your time sort of being overly emotional or reactional to what's going on," Love said.

Love, who worked in then-Sen. Obama's Capitol Hill office before joining him on the campaign trail and in the White House, said that competitive nature extends to politics, cards and even shuffle board.

The former Duke basketball player often hits the court with the president and said he is able to brush off a bad play in sports and in life, managing to appear "really calm all the time."

"I think it looks like he's really, really calm all the time and nothing gets under his skin, but I think from an efficiency standpoint, you know, you can cry about the call or you can look to the next play," Love said. "And if you spend your time crying about the call, usually you, you miss the next play. And then ... instead of having one bad play, now you have two."

President Obama contains himself, provides Professionalism and Respect. Robmey cries boo hoo at everything and blames everyone but himself. You can duck and dodge Robmey, but you can't hide from the American people.

The president is a WONDERFUL leader! I am so excited to see where he takes us over the next 4 years! I hope he continues to try and fix the problems that he was left by cheney and bush, and I hope he keeps moving forward. Its a great time to be an American

Another important attribute to President Obama, his supporters/voters represent the widespread of diversity in America because that's who we are. When the Republicans opened their convention today it is clear there is no diversity just the inclusiveness like a private club and that's not good. You'd think they would know and understand America but it appears they don't.

I can not wait for the debates. Romney is going to look desperate and fidgety while he tries to escape his flip flops and crazy right wing pandering. Obama will crush him and look cool while he does it.

  9. Oh, I get it

So that means that he watched basketball, said, "I could do that", and then when it was apparent that he cannot, he blames the refs and the guy he just got subbed in for?

President Obama has the right stuff. He doesnt wait to see which way the wind blows before he decideds like mittens. Forward 2012 We don't need a little rich bully in the white house crying if some one makes a remark about his dog.

Obama rocks. Great job president. You've saved us from another great depression.

Unemployment for college educated graduates is 4% which is something Repubs do not want to talk about.

Mass. was 47th in job creation while the neighboring states pretty much prospered. While the unemployment was relatively low, the number does not reflect that tens of thousands workers had moved out of the state, mainly because of manufacturing plant closures.

The SLOC required a handout of more than a billion dollars for the Olympics. It was supposed to be the frst that was 100% privately funded and it wound up being the most expensive winter games of all time. This, despite all of the private capital that was raised to cover the costs. How come they don't ever talk about the profits/losses for the Olympic investors?

People make me sad who just want to hate the President becuase he wound up with a mess that anyone would have found nearly impossible to clean up. He said hope and change becuase that what he needed to inorder to win. WOuld have " it is gonna be a real slow process but we will get there" worked in 2008? NO!

Please tell us where you found the "proven competence and record of success" so we can look at those records and maybe then, we'll understand why he can't produce his tax returns because I too, am a registered independent who WILL BE voting for the president AGAIN.

Didn't Obama just a few weeks ago blame President Bush again and then he blamed the Republicans again then he blamed Bush again and again and again then back to Republicans. Wow, that's a lot of blaming. Think this report is about another Obama, not the one in the White House.

Massachusetts went dons hill wig the flip flopper. He increased hu ter fees four times and now he's up the NRA behind. The guy is dangerous because his "role in life" is to be president. Hitler liked being king too and we know how that turned out. Huntsman's daughter during an interview said that the mormons think "this is the time". Time for what???
Warehouses full of food for their church along with a percentage of the salaries going to the church.
I rather the President had been a real Muslim (HE IS NOT!!!)) than having this psycho be president.

Blame Congress there bb. Their platform is to turn down Everything the President wants. Those dingbats repealed ACA more than 31 times even some after it was deemed legal by SCOTUS.
Robmey has no plans what so ever. Except that he was for the Ryan Plan before he was against it.
