Humanizing Romney and a little mystery for the final night

Tampa, Florida (CNN) - Speakers at the Republican National Convention's final evening will focus on telling Mitt Romney's "personal story," a Romney campaign adviser said again Thursday as the campaign moves to make Romney appealing to voters who thus far have heard mostly about his credentials as a businessman.

"What you're going to see tonight is a lot of telling Gov. Romney's personal story," Romney strategist Russ Schriefer said on a morning conference call.

Follow the Ticker on Twitter: @PoliticalTicker, catch the latest updates from the GOP convention on CNN's 2012 Conventions Live Blog, and check out the CNN Electoral Map and Calculator to game out your own strategy for November.

During the call, he gave details about Thursday night's speakers, which include three people who worked alongside Romney in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Also on the docket: businessmen who worked with Romney during his days as a private equity executive, and Kerry Healey, who served as lieutenant governor of Massachusetts during Romney's time as governor.

At 10 p.m. ET, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida will introduce Romney on stage to give his speech and accept the nomination.

Earlier in the evening, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and his wife, Callista, are also set to appear following a film about Ronald Reagan, and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush will give a speech about education.

Schriefer, the Romney strategist, wouldn't comment on speculation of a "mystery speaker" in tonight's convention event, saying "If there was a mystery speaker, it wouldn't be a mystery anymore."

Pushed further on the identity - or at least the existence - of an unannounced guest, Schriefer said he wasn't inclined to reveal any more details since the speculation "seems to be driving interest."

All he'd say? "Tune in tonight for a great program!"

Forget the likeability factor. How can America trust Romney to fix economy if he won't come clean and show his tax returns?

Why don't people worry more about their own bank accounts and their own investment activities in this current economic crisis rather than those who are running for public office?

I am and my vote goes to President Obama as I remember my bank account in 2008 and my stocks so it's an EASY choice.

Romney is boring but he can handle the economy

What proof do you have of that? All documents have been destroyed. Please tell us, please.

I am looking forward to see which (out of many) Romney will show up this evening. I am sure that he will try hard to be likable then you will see his awkward gesture and insincere laughter.
However no matter what how unauthentic Mitt can be about anything, but you will see he wanted the presidency more than anything else in life. This what makes Mitt to do anything and say anything without considering even the mere hypocrisy and false hood, for example when he say “the trees have equal hight..” you know Mitt is pandering, and am sure he will find out later that it is obviously pandering, but at the moment he wouldn’t consider that because he just wanted pleased people no matter what.
He is not capable of foreseeing things and analyzing what he mean in a moment of time, for that part I question his intelligent. If he was an intelligent man who can build a company from the ground how he can he fail to see the devastating effect of the statement he made in England just before the opening ceremony of London Olympics. He managed to offend the whole nation that would have been impossible for anyone other than Mitt. I am sure at that moment he was looking his action /word only from one damnation just to boost his performance for his work for The 2002 Winter Olympics. The most unauthentic man running for the office and I wonder he made it this far?

There are a few things that absolutely MUST be corrected.

    1. Walking. I don't know if it is health related issues or what, but Mitt Romney needs pep in his step.
    2. Standing. I don't know if it is health related, but Mitt Romney needs to take his left hand out of his pocket.
    3. Talking. I don't know if is health related or not, but Mitt Romney smiles and talks at the same time way too much.
    4. Gesturing. I don't know if it is health related, but Mitt Romney needs to turn his head without turning his shoulders

Unfortunately, Romney would be boring, he'll be trying to figure out how to keep us from going into bankruptcy and get this country up and running again and do what he is known for, create jobs. Romney is boring but he can handle the economy, Obama is fun and can not handle the economy.

Mitt Romney is more interested in counting his own money than anything else. When he told you that 75% of Bain investments were successful, he was talking about returns on investments for himself and his investors, just like it says in the Bain mission statement. Jobs? Jobs take away from the bottom line.

Oops sorry, I have to wash my hair tonight and I have to watch my grass grow under the moonlight.
You can't humanize a wooden bully. If this flip flopper was anymore wooden and stiff and uncaring we would need Geppetto to help him but that nose would be so long by now that he would need a crane to move around.
I guess his non working wife could feed the crumbs from Pinocchio's hat to the "you people" crowd and feel theybhave helped the unwashed masses.

R-money wants to be a people pleaser, which is why he has numerous stands on every issue, but he won't satisfy those of us, the American people, 63%, who ask for his income tax forms. But Grover Norquist doesn't want a people-pleaser, remember, he & the Republican party just want someone who sign his signature. He said it himself, and so you know that R-money will be beholden to his corporate supporters (Rove, Koch Brothers, Adelson, oil lobbyists, etc.), and not to the American people. You are warned.

What an insult it must be that you're so out of touch w/the average citizen, that your party has to take measures to try to "humanize" you! President Barack Hussein Obama was a president of the people, for the people right away & still is! His wife is personable & his girls adorable! They have infused the White House w/family values & class! In contrast the Romney's are the epitomy of the 1%! They talk about their cars (& elevators for same), homes, tax writeoff horse, Romney tells us he will not comply w/the peoples request for his tax returns & Ann says "You People get 2 years, that's it"! She might as well tell us to "eat cake"! There is no mystery here–Obama/Biden Next 4, Thanks!!

What we will see tonight is the "reinventing" of Romney. They have shaken the etch-a-sketch clean and will paint a brand new picture of him for us. While not truthful in any way, it should at least be entertaining.
