(CNN) – The Obama campaign offered a pointed comeback to Clint Eastwood's Republican National Convention chair sketch Thursday night tweeting, "This seat's taken" along with a picture of Obama in his Cabinet Room chair with a plaque inscribed: "The President."
Clint Eastwood was revealed as the GOP convention's "mystery guest" Thursday prior to the evening's prime time rundown and following media speculation of the schedule's empty slot. Eastwood's speech drew laughs, criticism and blank stares as he conversed with an empty chair placed on stage next to the podium. Eastwood, addressing an unseen President Barack Obama, condemned the incumbent for his ineffective policies, railing on his campaign's political tactics and handing a star studded endorsement to Thursday's intended focus, Mitt Romney.

Naturally, the notorious actor and director's speech sent the Twitter-verse reeling.
It wasn't long before Obama's campaign joined in the Twitter banter and jumped on Eastwood's seemingly unscripted speech, tweeting the picture of the commander in chief in his official chair.
And it wasn't long before that photo prompted a response.
Friday afternoon, the National Republican Senatorial Committee tweeted, "This seat's not," accompanied with a picture of an identical (but empty) chair facing the words "White House Jobs Council."
"It's been over 227 days since President Obama has met with his job's council," read the text on a webpage linked from the NRSC tweet. "Add to that the over 1,200 days since Senate Democrats have passed a budget and it is no wonder we are facing an unprecedented jobs and debt crisis."
Of course, both tweets included links to the respective campaigns' websites - the Obama campaign page sought a donation, while the NRSC page asked visitors to sign a digital petition.
I'll bite – what did he drop his handicap from and to? And how did you find this out? Sounds a little like nonsense and nothing specific to criticize.
To all those who are waiting for Romnaey to find you a job:
He cannot do it. The same is true for Obama. A large number of unemployed Americans are unemployed because either have no college degree or have a Mickey Mouse degree earned drinking beer in some frat house. In the old days, before globalization there was plenty of manual jobs that could be done by people with no specific high level skills. Those are gone, simply because there is an army of people abroad that can do the same for a small fraction of the pay an American would take. Companies do not have a mission of creating jobs, they have a mission of creating profits and they take jobs wherever is cheaper: it's just as simple as that. If you really want a job, go get a real education in a technical field. and make it worthy for an American company to pay you what you want.
Clint Eastwood wants to talk about President Obama's plane?? Really?? It's okay for Mitt Romney and his family to fly around in that gas guzzler but it's not okay for the POTUS?? haha!
What an humiliating chapter in Clint's life.
Time to take away the car keys, Clint.
Good one!!
Clint Eastwood has always been one of my heroes. Unfortunately, he seems to be turning into a parody of himself – maybe he forgot he was acting in "Gran Torino" and has stayed in character ever since.
Hey Clint! Get off my lawn!
Obama is still the king ! after all the hopla is over Obama is still the king........Obama 2012..yes
Obviously, Mr. Eastwood got to Mr. Obama. I think that's hilarious. Call a few more of your Hollywood friends, Mr. Obama. They will help you out.
"I supported McCain, but I'm glad Obama won."
–Clint Eastwood, 2008.
Wow – Obama put an empty suit in the empty chair, clever.
How much do you reckon Clint was paid for this appearance?
I never would have believed that Half of the Americans LOVE FAILURES.
The funniest part of Eastwoods satirical presentation was the telepromter in front of the empty chair!
Polls show President beating empty chair.
Maybe the Dems should do a parody of Clint with an empty suit.
Almost as humiliating as his reality show.
Mr. Eastwood did appear to be a "bit out of it." And he had the unemployment number wrong making it almost twice as bad as it is. I don't understand why either party feels the need to drag out some "star" and get their endorsement. Who cares who the "stars" vote for?
Hey President Obama, while the GOT like to discredit your historic and landmark accomplishments, I'll like to take this time to say thank you for all that you have done for America and the world and by the way, thank you for killing Osama Bin Laden.
Where were you on the night Americans waved Ole Glory, sang patriot songs and chanted "Obama got Osama... Obama got Osama...Obama got Osama?"
Obama/Biden 2012!
I think Clint actually saw President Obama sitting in the chair.
I thought Clint did a *great* job of showing how Republicons think.
To Anonyomus: Thank you very much what a great post.
Sitting there with his feet up on the desk no doubt
What a sad end to the circus.
The guy couldn't even remember that his own nominee is a lawyer, saying no more lawyers in the WH!!!!
