Video: Watch the entire Clint Eastwood speech at the RNC

(CNN) - Clint Eastwood's speech at the Republican National Convention Thursday sparked laughs, criticism and confusion as he carried on a conversation with an empty chair, harping its 'occupant,' President Barack Obama, for four years of what he called failed policy and bad politics, all the while endorsing GOP nominee Mitt Romney.

Even in his somewhat senile rambling, Clint is more interesting than alexithymic Mitt.

Amazing that CNN doesn't know what a metaphor represents. In this case, it was an empty chair representing the last four years of 'nothing' from President Obama, the very best reason why we don't need four more years. President Obama said "if I don't get anything done in four years, I won't run for another four"...well, let's help him keep his promise..

Clint Eastwood represents everything wrong with the republican party and this is one of the reasons, I haven't watched any of his movies since 2008. Last nights perfomance sealed that deal permanently. What a racist, disrespectful way to treat the POTUS and yet, the audience, including Ann Romney laughed. With this party, we can come to expect more of this type of behavior but no specifics on how they plan to turn things around. Bottomline: Eastwood was disgraceful and anyone who thought this was slightly funny is just as bad.

What on earth would make Clint cry when Obama was elected? Bush had driven the country to the brink of an economic meltdown. Foreclosures and bankruptcies were going through the roof, Americans were dying in two senseless wars, and the entire world saw the US as the greatest threat to world peace.

Really Clint? And it was Obama who made you cry? How detached from reality are you?

Of course, under Bush the richer were getting richer at the expense of the poor who were getting poorer. Maybe that is why you cried, you are rich and Obama might make you pay the taxes just like the rest of us pay.

The conservatives loved it because they don't get many "hollywood" types supporting their agenda's. They also hated Clint when he made the superbowl Chrysler commercial about the auto comeback that Obama saved. Pick your side, conservatives.

The Clint thing was more of a skit than anything else.......and it was entertaining. But at the same time, it was kind of sad to see someone that shows strength in all of his movie roles looking like a bumbling old man that can't quite get his thoughts together. But I'll still check out his new movie......

Well if the performance from Clint Eastwood is any indication on how the election will go in November, Mr. Eastwood you just made President Obama's day. It was pathetic and pitiful to see this man stand there and babble on during prime time to endorse another man who is just as incoherent. The RNC and the GOP must realize they are not reaching the people they need to win this election; young, progressive, diverse, educated.

It's a shame that the convention took so much time to show they are trying to change as a party...lots of young, multi-racial speaker... but the thing everyone will remember is that it ended with a old white gun-loving guy rambling to an imaginary obama. He solidified all the stereotypes that haunt the GOP today.

How many ways can one say, "mistake"?
Republican convention went off the rails with this one.

Is this a taste of what Republican good judgment looks like?
What the hell were they thinking?

This was the last night of the Republican convention.
    And we are given this?

    I love Eastwood.
But only managed to feel sorry for him.
And to feel sorry for the poor bozo who talked the convention committee into this stunt.

Clint Eastwood was just one of the many problems with the Ryan/Romney Team. When you build your campaign on lies like the "Welfare Ads" you get Eastwooding. The GOP convention was a flop for independent voters.

An empty chair to represent an empty suit. Truth is an empty chair could have done better than Obama over the last 4 years. And the empty chair wouldn't have run up $5 TRILLION in debt.

So, this is very interesting. How can you support a party whose #1 agenda it was to "make sure the President fails" and then blame the President for their stale-mating? How is his "not doing his job" sending legislation that historically was Republican gold mines and getting it completely voted against simply because he proposed it? Had this President gotten the same support Bush got, we would be singing a totally different tune! But because he's a Black man, and has power that they historically had, they did EVERYTHING to stop him! And now you want to talk about the President being negative????

The Republican convention was a thinly veiled racist convention, where the code words resonated with those it was meant to – racially challenged White People. Had it not been for Condi Rice, the young black Mormon lady, and Artur Davis, this could be Mississippi in the 1960's. Take some responsibility in your part of this catastrophe Republicans! I lost almost all respect I had for Clint Eastwood by doing this. He is so much better than this party! OBAMA BIDEN 2012!!!

And i'm not done yet either! How can ANYONE with half a brain even compare the negativity between the two campaigns! President Obama is leaps and bounds better than Romney in terms of running the better, more positive campaign. I feel bad for CNN and any of the other networks that feel like they have to try and bring up something the Democrats have done just to not sound bias! I don't care what anyone says, but RACIAL ATTACKS and BLATANT LIES are FAR WORSE than Dems linking Mitt to a woman's death. OH YEAH, THAT AD RAN ONE TIME IN ONE STATE AFTER THE PRESIDENT TOLD THEM TO STOP RUNNING IT!!! Mittens and his racist cronies continue to pump MILLIONS AND MILLIONS behind LYING ADS THAT ARE RACIALLY MOTIVATED, NAMELY WELFARE AND THE BIRTHER ISSUE!!! How can you compare the two??? Here's how, by completely glossing over your own actions! Good job Repubs! You lied this one up well!!!

  19. The Other Dale

This is one of those moments where, when you're at a party you think something is really funny in the heat of the moment, but later realize how idiotic and demoralizing it was. Then you realize that someone filmed it and put it up on Youtube for everyone to also realize how idiotic and demoralizing it was.

PROGRESSIVES DESPISE THE ELDERLY AND BLACK FOLKS WHO REFUSE TO LIVE ON THE PLANTATION.

Progressives and their puppet media outlets are attacking Eastwood this morning for his speech.

Exposing their disdain for the elderly by mentioning Eastwood’s age, I consider the response (uproar) to his speech an assault on the right AND THE ELDERLY. In particular, since Progressives and their puppets opted not to connect the empty chair metaphor to Obama always being MIA, another reality that must have really stung.
