California delegate steps aside after police incident
Charlotte, North Carolina (CNN) - A California man has agreed to step down from his position as a voting delegate at this week's Democratic National Convention after an incident with police at a local hotel early Sunday morning.
"Earlier this morning, we received reports that indicated two members of the delegation were intoxicated when they arrived at their hotel. Hotel staff noticed that one of the men appeared to be unconscious and immediately called paramedics for assistance. The delegate was taken to a local hospital. He has since recovered and been released," said California Democratic Party spokesman Tenoch Flores in a statement. "Additionally, the other delegate according to several reports, became disruptive with hotel staff and emergency technicians, prompting the hotel to call police. The delegate was not arrested."

Party officials met with the delegate, whom they declined to identify, and asked him to leave the hotel and not to participate in any convention-related activities. The man agreed and has also apologized to hotel staff, according to the party. His official duties, including casting a vote during Wednesday's expected presidential roll call vote, will be carried out by one of the 46 alternate delegates assigned to the delegation.
The incident took place at The Blake Hotel, one of two sites in Uptown Charlotte being used to house members of the California delegation.

Oh... reporting on intoxicated dem delegates. Because none of the repubs were intoxicated during their convention. Visited strip bars ... threw peanuts at a black camera person while hurling racial insults... but not intoxicated.
