(CNN) - Republicans raised the question in their convention of whether the country is better off than it was when President Barack Obama was elected, and it doesn't seem that Democrats have a convincing argument going into their convention this week.
Both Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his running mate Paul Ryan had a variation on the theme in their acceptance speeches last week in Tampa, Florida.

Democrats mildly resist!?!?
Partly because to some degree they don't need to right now strongly resist. A fairly good job of highlighting lies, yes I mean lies, has been done on 3 or four major Republican claims and platforms GM plant closure, welfare to work, Kaiser society on the $716bn health care nonsense and the Tax increase on middle class, big reduction on the rich and corporates again; as per Republican plans.
Also we are a couple of days away from the Democratic convention and taking a leaf out of the warrior Sun Yat Sen's playbook. You fight after proper planning/ preparation and only when where and how you can win!
The major skirmish is the upcoming Democratic convention no need to waste Ammo... especially when we have Untrue and Pants on fire and 4 Pinnochios on key item items in the Republican platform speeches which they still repeated. YOU LIE and its justified this time.
Talking about platforms the abortion etc position of the RNC is pretty damn close to Ryan/ Aiken. I find Republican re-action therefore hypocritical a) because you thought he ( Aiken) was damaging re=womens votes nationally ( not Ryan) and b) that it might risk losing or not winning a senate seat you covet,,, coveting and hypocrisy and lies are sin(s).
On a more personal note the tenor of your family values comments and who are real Americans were extremely divisive too me as I and my family and many who share my views are neither Evangelical, Catholic, or Mormom, but consistently I came away with the horrible feeling that as far as Republicans are concerned, I dont have family values, poor religious values because I am in favor of women having the right to free contraceptiive means and Abortion for sure for Rape ( legitimate UGH included) incest and mothers health actually plus some. And that because I dont vote Republican I am somehow not a real American and not a patriot.
I am sort of serious when I say the following jokey lines that if some of your convention rhetoric were said personally to my face to try get my vote. I might just say well sir " one fine day in the middle of the night, two dead men got up to fight, drew thier swords, and shot each other!!"?
Meaning for me a lot of House of Representative tea partiers in my parody fight just shot themselves in the foot, at least, and may not get re-elected.

Hodgson.
Few people can say they are better off then 4 years ago. In my neighborhood of about 20 homes,in Pennsylvania, there were three foreclosures in the past year. The homes would normally be in the price range of $175,000-275,000. This election is going to be more about jobs and the price of food and fuel than anything else. President Obama cannot compete with Mitt Romney on the economy and hopefully most people would wakeup and see we need a Presidential change immediately.
The Democrats have got to get their act together. While he hasn't saved us from the eight previous years yet they need to show what the boy toy vp nomineed and his congress have voted against US and start talking about what the President has done!
