First on CNN: DNC secretly scheduled guests: Actresses Johansson, Portman, Washington

Charlotte (CNN) – Clint Eastwood meet Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman and Kerry Washington.

The three actresses, firmly anchored in Hollywood's royalty, have been secretly scheduled to speak at the Democratic National Convention, according to a tentative schedule provided by a source to CNN.

- Check out the CNN Electoral Map and Calculator and game out your own strategy for November.

The schedule lists the three actresses as speaking on Thursday evening, the same night that President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will accept their party's respective nominations. Johansson, Portman and Washington are listed as following The Foo Fighters on the itinerary. Convention officials announced that the alternative rock band would perform last week.

A source told CNN the hope is to have the three actresses appear on stage together.

It's unclear if the schedule has been finalized or is subject to change. When contacted by CNN, a DNC official said that no final details about the Thursday program would be divulged at this time.

CNN reached out to representatives for each actress but did not receive comment for Johansson and Portman. A representative for Washington would only say the actress is currently filming in Los Angeles.

Though several celebrities are slated to attend the DNC, appearances by Johansson, Portman and Washington would surely invite special political scrutiny.

All three are popular, award-winning actresses and among Hollywood's most bankable stars. But perhaps more importantly, all three represent demographics that Democrats hope to win by wide margins: women and young voters.

Johansson is 27 years old, Portman is 31 and Washington is 35.

Should the actresses take the stage supporting the president it could help Democrats present a picture of inclusiveness and diversity within the party. Johansson and Portman are white, Washington is African-American.

Meanwhile, an appearance by the trio would come one week after another political surprise move by a Hollywood royal.

Clint Eastwood delivered an unannounced speech at the Republican National Convention on Romney's behalf on Thursday. Though it was well received by conservatives in attendance and others watching at home – Eastwood's speech, where he had a conversation with an imaginary President Obama represented by an empty chair, was mocked by many others.

One thing Eastwood has in common with the women: they are all critically acclaimed actors.

In addition to positive reviews in other films, Portman won an Academy Award in 2011 for her role in "The Black Swan." Johansson has seen critical acclaim for roles in films such as "Lost in Translation," "A Love Song for Bobby Long" and "The Other Boleyn Girl." Washington currently stars in ABC's hit show "Scandal" and roundly received praise for her roles in the films "For Colored Girls," "The Last King of Scotland" and the Ray Charles biopic, "Ray."

Johansson, Portman and Washington were vocal supporters of Obama in 2008.

IS this the best they can do, Republicans bring in a legend in Clint Eastwood, Democrats bring in 3 bimbo's from Hollywood, the only thing they have going for them in their looks, certainly not their brains.

Well, these ladies are pretty but they certainly aren't that politically active to be considered a great ticket to the DNC convention. Just pretty faces....and all so young? Where are the influential Hollywood A-listers that are somewhat involved in politics? Guess not at the DNC this year....

Hollywood types make a living creating illusions. That fits right in with all the pretending the DNC does.

How can these actresses compare to the GOP's Ted 'Crappy Pants' Nugent. Chuck Norris, Clint Eastwood, and Taliban Hank Williams Jr.? Other than intelligence what do they bring to the Democratic Party?

What in the heck do these three movie stars know about the 'real' world and what is going on? What office have they held? All three of them put together does not hold a candle to Condi Rice.

Guess it isn't so secret. Were they scheduled before or after the RNC's Clint Eastwood performed? I think the Dems should pull in Roseanne Barr.

Wow they couldn't have better picked 3 celebrities who represent what the Democrats are today but nothing but a party that panders to ceratain groups for votes. Nearly every demagraphic is hit with these three, woman, young, black, Jewish. This is all they care about. Also, you bring out Michelle last night saying how the Republicans are elitists who don't live in the real world and bring out these 3 elites special guests. Hypocrisy. What happened to you guys post Clinton? You guys used to have respect and cared about everyone in this country. Not just groups to pander to.

I wish Bill Mahr would've been selected to attend the convention as the DNC's answer to Clint Eastwood. I can just hear him now. Of course, he would need to swear to make it funny yet keep it clean.

The commenters saying Clint Eastwood is a bigger star than these actresses are showing their age. And as for this being a "beauty" over "brains" selection, I don't think anyone saw any brains on display during Eastwood's debacle.

The first comment mentions brains. Clint had them once; seemed more like a senile old man last week.

Can't speak for the other two, but Natalie Portman is first graduate of Harvard College to win an Academy Award for best actress. Finished Harvard while making probably $20 million (each) on her summer breaks, filming Star Wars movies.

And she is an adamant defender of her home country, Israel. She might be knowledgeable in political matters.

I know Portman went to an Ivy League school, but the other two? Nobody goes to a movie just to see these "award-winning actresses"? and among "Hollywood's most bankable stars"! Really!!! Please enlighten me with how their life experiences are relevant to the single working mother of three? Are they going to pay more taxes to help support their "Big O's" tax hikes. Are they going to complain if their tax rates go down? Answers to all of the above, NO. Also, the Foo Fighters, c'mon Dave Grohl would be an out of work musician if not for Kurt Cobain.
