Obama to address jobs numbers in New Hampshire
(CNN) - A senior campaign official and a White House aide told CNN Friday that President Barack Obama will address August's jobs numbers at a campaign stop in New Hampshire.
The economy added 96,000 jobs in August, down from 141,000 jobs in July, the Department of Labor said Friday. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate fell to 8.1%, from 8.3% in July. The drop in unemployment was caused because 368,000 people stopped looking for work and therefore were no longer counted in the survey.

I'm not surprise at the job report numbers it's a reflection of his speech (same old same). This guy president should throw the keys to the white to Romney. Black's need to face the truth unemployment 14.5 among us. Can't blame Bush now.
Dismal at best. I watched MSNBC gloss over the facts this morning. Felt like I was working overseas again where the media is controlled by the government. Of course they failed to mention 368,000 people stopped looking for work and focused only on 8.3 to 8.1% drop.
96,000 jobs were added to the economy that a good thing , look on the bright side at lease 96,000 jobs weren't lost. Unemployment rate fell to 8.1%, from 8.3% in July another good thing. Question if 368,000 people stopped looking for work aren't they still unemployed? So they should be still counted as unemployed. President can't make company hire people. Go Obama
Obama's required policies just fend off the difference between the Great Bush RECESSION becoming the Great Bush DEPRESSION with it's more visible bread lines. If were not losing jobs after 8 years of GOP deregulation, and Bush's insistent pleas and policies to move more people into the American dream of a home...then we are still better off, as the hole is less deep. Sometimes just keeping your head above water is good as it depends solely on the duration and magnitude of the STORM at hand.
mitt romney shouln't be proud for the aug. job growth he is only showing he is not for the middle class worker when he sels this as good in his voice good for who not us he is against the american people when he does this stupid man

8.1% + 368,000 people that stopped looking for work plus people starting to look for work that have not yet been counted as unemployed=????????
I think it is interesting to note that all these people want to blame the prez.....but you never see one of them say what he should have done to fix it. Truth is with the mess that W left, I am not certain the man or woman has been born who could have fixed it in ten years. Much less four. When the Republicans are having meetings on how to make the prez a one termer before he is even sworn in (which Lyin Rran attended), filibusters to make certain that nothing of value can happen, top it off with a good healthy dose of racism and fascism............well, what do you expect? Jeeeebuss?
He will naturally address it by saying it was Bushes fault and that we should not count that trillion dollars called the stimulus bill that he gave as payback to the welfare frauds, dope addicts and corrupt union bosses that stole the 2008 election for him.
It's over for Obama. Can we please hold this election in October?
Kept us from going into a full fledged depression though didn't he. Kept a whole lot of people off bread lines, didn't he. Did not prosecute the great W for war crimes did he? Proved that the whole country is still scared of black people didn't he? And he did not even have to raise a finger to do that...........DID HE.
3.5 years on office, Obama created 4.6 million new private sector jobs.
20 years at Bain, Mitt created 100K jobs.
GOP House passed more bills banding abortion or naming a Post Office after a dead person, but failed to pass Obama Jobs bill, which will put Americans back to work.
You Obama haters have to face the fact, 30 straight months of private sector job growth done without the help of the Republicans...GWB/Ryan brought the US the Great Recession and 800,000 loses per month. The truth hurts.
It is an incredible argument that Obama and his policies have failed to create jobs while republican policies continue to gut jobs. Not fixing tax subisidies for outsorucing, gutting government investment in the infrastructure, and giving incentives for profit over hiring, the GOP and the busines continue to stifle the job market. It is absolute nonsense that the job's picture is mediocre at best due soley to admiinistrative policies. The secondary headline today is that profits are still climbing for U.S. business. Moreover, government jobs continue to be shed. 300,000 teachers were laid off since the close of the last school year as an example. The rporting on jobs numbers is outmoded and misleading in that much of it is speculation about why people are not in the job market, what jobs go unfulfilled due to lack of a skilled labor force, and number of jobs that are outsourced or downsized by companies that focus on profit gains during any month. The Rpublican congress owns a great deal of this tepid growth as it rejected all efforts to create jobs through infrastructure support and created huge uncertainity with it's lack of financial discipline: as does business which has maintained huge profits and capital, but still does not not hire; as does an administration that allowed the GOP lead congress to completely fail in it's obligation to get this financial house in order with a balnace between investment, revenue, and debt reduction.
The one who ought to be looking for a new job is Ashleigh Banfield. Someone at CNN needs to tell her that our country has only one First Lady–and that is Michelle Obama. There is no "President, his wife and the other First and Second Ladies." We have candidates and their wives and the President and First Lady. These kinds of mistakes just point out her continually biased commentary. Perhaps Fox would be interested?
If those 368,000 are quitters, giving up, then that's their choice. My choice was always to get another job and get back on my feet. Those tightie righties sure now how to milk the gov't cow, don't they? They work for cash and claim unemployment until it runs out and then continue to work for cash. Bet they file for disability when they hit 62 like my own brother and sister did.
I have no respect for people that give up or quit, or draw disability as they hop and skip around bragging about taking the "guv'mint". I've heard it.
Obama's new approach to lowering the jobless numbers is working. Simply get workers on foodstamps and welfare. Because they no longer need to work they can stop looking for a job and be dropped from labor workforce. With the workforce being smaller the jobless number drops.
Not more people working just more people playing the system!
