After 'big stick' rebuke, Palin goes after new stimulus

(CNN) – Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin took quick aim at new stimulus money announced Thursday by the Federal Reserve, calling the new attempt at spurring the nation's struggling economy a "sugar fix" designed for political gain.

It's the second rebuke in as many days from Palin, who late Tuesday took President Barack Obama to task for his handling of attacks on American diplomatic missions in Egypt and Libya. She wrote on her Facebook page if Obama "doesn't have a 'big stick' to carry, maybe it's time for him to grow one."

In that post, she also harked back to one of the most famous lines from the 2008 presidential campaign.

"Apparently President Obama can't see Egypt and Libya from his house," Palin began, mimicking a line Tina Fey used to mock her on Saturday Night Live.

In Thursday's post, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee wrote Obama "is clearly revealing his rapid loss of any grip on the economic and security issues that are of utmost importance to our country."

"His economic and foreign policy blunders are manifesting chaos," Palin continued. "On the same day when we see more chaos erupting in the Middle East and President Obama declaring that Egypt is no longer considered our ally, the Federal Reserve announced that it will spend $40 billion a month to purchase mortgage-backed securities with no end date set. QE3 is upon us."

While presidents appoint chairmen of the Federal Reserve to a 14-year term, the bank operates independently of the government, and presidents traditionally do not comment on the actions taken by the bank's board. Actions taken by the Fed do not have be approved by the president or Congress.

That fact didn't stop Palin Thursday from casting the news stimulus as blindly political.

"Is it any wonder that the dollar is down against major currencies?" she asked. "This temporary, artificial economic 'stimulus' bought at the expense of high inflation is no substitute for a stable currency and genuine long-term economic recovery. This is what happens when big government centralized planners try to "plan" our economy."

"President Obama is no doubt happy, though, that this latest sugar fix comes 53 days before the election," she concluded.

Naw. She's a very good-looking woman. My sons think that she is hot, and quite frankly she is BUT she's a hot-looking piece of white trash with nothing to commend her to her Maker but her outer beauty which is shot to smithereens as soon as she opens her trap and spews hate and venom.
But hey, if you like that kind, it's all good.

This woman is a complete joke. I think I would take Honey Boo Boo's advice over hers! She's the main reason the Repubs were a joke in the last election, that and McCain giving in to the party establishment who completely blew it.

Whoa, the author of this article changed history a little bit. Tina Fey didn't come up with that "I can see Russia from my house" line. It was PALIN HERSELF! Fey just used it as part of her mocking bit. Let's not forget that Palin is THAT messed up.

Although it is sad that we can mistake statements made for comedic effect for actual political statements these days, and vice versa.

She is correct; EVERY action taken by the Fed has nothing except lower the value of the dollar. More of lower valued dollars required to buy gasoline, groceries and household goods hurt the middle-class more than anyone.

No folks...she won't go away. She is a shallow minded, egotistical attention seeker who doesn't have the fundamental intellect to know that she is, in fact, a dope. She is the sorriest example of who we are as Americans and one good example of why we are losing our position and respect in the world. When real statesmen/women are an endangered species, and when we have instead the likes of clowns, media attention sucks and reality TV morons, we are in a sad spot. Palin, and fools like her, are damaging this country. We are better then to give this ridiculous person the time of day.

Ancient Texan...The rate of inflation with the super low intrest levels and everything else that the Fed has done should be rocketing, yet in reality its likely too slow of an inflation rate right now. Stimulating the economy is what we need, not a worry about the dollar value

    September 13, 2012 05:29 pm at 5:29 pm |

WHY are news agencies still reporting on this woman? As long as they do, we will be subjected to her ignorant observations.

I wouldn't worry about the dollar losing value right now. The Dollar is worth more compared to the Euro than it was 4 years ago. The last two QE did not devalue our dollar. Inflation is lower than average.

Sarah Palin is an idiot, who quit her state to make money... she's dumber than a box of rocks... she needs to spend more time figuring out how to raise a family... then share some of it with her moron daughter... That family is white trash at its finest...
