Ryan vouches for Romney's character in speech to conservatives

Washington (CNN) - Beneath his stiff and sometimes impersonable exterior, Mitt Romney has a heart of gold.

That's according to the testimonial Paul Ryan delivered on Romney's behalf Friday at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, an annual gathering of social conservatives and faith leaders organized by the Family Research Council.

"I'm not the only one who has told Mitt that maybe he needs to talk more about himself and his life," Ryan said, acknowledging a recurring complaint among Republicans that Romney does a poor job of highlighting his personal side. "It wouldn't hurt if voters knew more of those little things that reveal a man's heart and his character."

Ryan spoke about the time Romney suspended operations at Bain Capital in 1996 to marshal support for a search and rescue operation for the missing daughter of an employee.

Romney is "one of those guys who doesn't just exhort and oversee good works, but shows up and does the work," Ryan said.

"Mitt Romney is the type we've all run into in our own communities, the man who's there right away when there's need, but never first in line when praise and credit are being handed out," he said. "He's a modest man with a charitable heart, a doer and a promise-keeper."

"He's the kind of person every community could use more of, and he'll be the kind of president who brings out the best in our country."

The remarks came at the conclusion of an otherwise pointed speech that criticized a litany of President Obama's actions over the last four years.

Lyin' Ryan vouches for Romney. Not sure if that is a ringing endorsement. More than likely one of the Koch Brothers shoved his arm up the back of Ryan's suit and moved his mouth while the other brother spoke for him. After all, we know that Ryan is nothing but a ventriloquist dummy for the far right

Plus Romney finally stated where the Middle Class he is for starts: $200,000-$250,000 a year. The median income in the United States is $50,000 a year. Does Romney not know that median income is the average income. THE MIDDLE INCOME IS $50,000 a year you dolt.

Are Republicans really as dumb as they keep demonstrating? Paul Ryan is the same guy who bragged about his incredible time running a marathon, which turned out to be a lie, so his credibility is partially shot. Now here he is bragging about what such a good person Mitt Romney is, and how he has the best interests of others foremost in his mind and policies, etc. Seriously. He's gotta be Mitten me.

What a joke. This is akin to Frank Nitti vouching for Al Capone's character. The desperation is really showing guys. Hey, I know, call the president a liar, that will make the American people vote for you. Not.

    @ Chris

I'm from cal too few pay real attention here I notice. Just answer this why has obama never helped his brother but will help you?

"You people" complain and call the president "a welfare president" constantly because he believes in helping people have a chance. Should he help his brother, (and we don't know the FACTS surrounding that), YOU would be the first one to yelll he's giving more of YOUR money to help someone else stay dependent. At least admit you wouldn't like this president no matter what he did.

"They both are men (?) of very questionable character."

I prefer calling them "boys" actually. It makes them soooooo angry, because you just know how badly they want to call Obama "boy."

I just watched Mr. Ryan suggest that this administration was 'treating Israel with "indifference bordering on contempt"'

It should tell us something of this man's character that he would say something that is so easily proven to be untrue by merely asking him one question:

Dear Mr. Ryan, name one other country in the whole world that treats Israel better than the United States?

To find the definition of the worst administration in American history try a web search for "Nixon Agnew".
You don't even have to go that far back... the word Dubya ring a bell? 3000 Americans killed on his watch, thousands of soldiers killed, hundreds of thousands of civilians killed, the country thrown into the worst economic crisis ever. And all that while netting a total sum of ZERO jobs created over 8 years and turning a budget surplus into the biggest deficit ever.

Nixon and Agnew were amateur hour compared to the Dubya administration.

While we mourn those lost, the republicans have a religious right-wing hate fest. Shame on them.

24 days to early voting in some states.

    Obama/Biden for intelligent, level-headed leadership.

The question now is Who will vouch for Ryan's character? But did he really vouch for him or did he lie to us...again.

I don't think he is reputable enough to vouch for anyone. He lies! So far, he has been caught in several lies. What wil Paul Ran say if proven wrong? I know: OOPS.
