Republican senators wrestle with Romney comments

Washington (CNN) - It is not a good sign when your high profile political allies have to spend their day explaining and clarifying what you said.

But that's what happened in conversation after conversation with Republican senators on Wednesday as they tried to verbally navigate their way through requests for reaction to Mitt Romney's secretly recorded comments writing off - and dismissing – 47% of Americans who will support President Barack Obama "no matter what."

Maybe somebody should have wrestled him to the ground (and cut his hair which looked a bit disheveled during that 10p impromptu useless press conference) during the primaries. Your list of candidates was beyond pathetic. You picked the "chosen one" and all he wants to do is run for president. He really doesn't want to be president because he is clueless about foreign policy, the economy, the middle class, the poor, seniors, the military, poor children, you know that 47% who are leeches.
Now they dug up a PUBLIC speech the President gave 14 years ago where he mentions the word "redistribution" and are trying to compare it to the twit's PRIVATE comments to his kind about the leeches in the US.
The birther movement didnt, work. Calling the President a nazi (look in the mirror), socialist, communist and other adjectives that I refuse to say didn't work in 2008 and it's not going to work in 2012. The voter suppression is being clipped in the bud by courts. Even in PA where a rep said that they had sealed a win for the twit!

this is truly amazing. If Romney (the moderate) doesn't win this election, what is the GOP going to do in 2016 ? Makes you wonder if the GOP party will still be in existence. LOL WoW !
Personally, I think it will still be a very close election, just hope the supreme court dosen't decide it, like they did when they gave it to Dubya, instead of Gore. ( even though Gore had 400 or 500 more votes in the sunshine state)
Vote Democrat – 2012 ( for the "working" middle class, what's left of us)

  5. They ought to change from the elephant to the hippo...

Why are they wrestling? Mitt just said what he believes and probably most other Republicans believe. Many, many people in the US are worth their distain. If they don't vote the way you want, they're not worth anything. Shameful. So much for representative democracy, helping ones fellow man, or even being Christian....

I'm not a Romney fan, but I'll cut him a small amount of slack here. I don't think he was revealing his true feelings. I think he was just pandering to a room of rich, right-wing snobs who have nothing but contempt for anyone making under 7 figures. My reason for this is Romney's record of flip-flops. He's said so many things on so many issues that I don't think anyone really knows how he really feels.

Those senators need to get out of the "beltway", into fly over country and see that Romneys remarks are painfully true. Also see how all those entitlements are mis-used constantly. Ordinary working class are fed up with the in your face attitude of the recievers, that get dental and optical, susrgerys that the working class cant afford. Yea come on out and check it out.

It's very simple. Either you condemn the statement or you agree with it. I'm tired of these republicans trying to hide what they really think about the majority of Americans. The current day republican party believes that only executives should have healthcare and retirement benefit plans. People who work for a living should make minimum wage, have to pay for their health insurance out of pocket and if they have anything left, save for retirement, because they want to take the social security money the workers paid for and use it for debt reduction.

The GOP is so far right....and out of even mainstream GOP thought...that each new vista into what Romney et al really think....rightfully scares the hell out of normal people.

When there is doubt that you have nothing interesting or intelligent to say, it is better not to open your mouth and clear the doubt!

Romney doesn't represent the middle class. It's that simple. As a disabled vet with a 34-year military career I'm just another parasite to Mitt Romney. I don't even own a dressage horse... what a loser...

Any bets on who will say the liberal media is driving this issue, but if I remember right the media was not labeled as liberal when Obama made his fopaw when he was talking to the President of the Soviet Union.

We all tell our kids to be honest, but why we are so afraid of truth?
obama and clinton are both big liars.
would you like to have a better economy, a job to take care of yourself or to live on government hand out.
obama has proved that the only thing he can do is to borrow money and to hand out free money to anyone who apply for, but there is no such thing like free money.
you want to sell out your children and grand children generations so you can live now? That is what obama doing now and that is easy to understand because he is a HUSSEIN. History has taught us that not many hussein really like us at all.
