Obama campaign outraised Romney campaign in August

(CNN) - President Barack Obama and his allies raised nearly $85 million in August, outpacing Romney's haul in the month which saw both parties’ national conventions, campaign finance paperwork filed Thursday with the Federal Election Commission showed.

Obama's campaign spent heavily in the month, too, with their haul of $84.8 million just surpassing their $83.7 million in August spending.

His campaign ended the month with $87.7 million cash on hand, passing Romney's $50 million cash on hand at the end of August.

In July, Obama raised $75 million.

Obama's campaign allies at the Obama Victory Fund supplemented his campaign's haul with an additional $39.6 million. Obama is allowed to fund-raise and spend in conjunction with the Victory Fund, while coordinating with some other groups, such as super PACs, is prohibited.

Both candidates ended the month with debt on their balance sheets.

The Obama campaign owed money to vendors, the largest of that amount - $1.6 million - being due to an advertizing agency whose website says it was founded by members of Obama's 2008 digital team.

Romney's debt was in the form of a loan taken to tide over his campaign before general election funds became available in after the party's conventions.

But, if this is true, how will Adelson buy the presidency for Romney so he can send our kids to be killed fighting Iran for their friend BiBi.

As Chris Christie pointed out earlier, Romney can't win. Maybe the donors are starting to catch on and keeping their money.

DUH! Conservative donors are a one quarter team, that is they play that first quarter really well get all hyped up and junk. In the end they revert back to their normal selves. You know the kind? The ones who don't like to donate because they think it'll just go to waste anyway. Republican voters are the selfish kind anyway. YOu know they couldn't keep up with contributions. Without the superPAC's on Romney's side, he'd be blown away in campaign finance.

Very one-sided Rah-Rah piece pro-Obama. You are not being egalitarian. Where are Romney's actual numbers?

wait a minute we heard all summer how Romney was out raising Obama , and not able to spend much money, now we hear that Obama out raise Romney, and was able to out spend him in august and still have a sizable more money in the bank... seems Obama is better at managing money than Romney who had to take out a loan to tie his camp over?.......

Kind of old news isn't it.

What can't you focus on what Obama said in 2008 and now in 2012 almost word for word looks like a rerun in speeches.

This Country is headed for a cliff and you can thank Obama and is party of idiots for that remember he had control of both houses when he took office and the voters got fed up with his no leadership and out of control spending. They didn't work across the isles they just shoved everything down our throats we can't take another four years with Obama in the office he lied his way into.

I don't take anything that comes out of Clinton's mouth as the truth he still like the rest of the Democrats use fuzzy math. When I went to school 1+1=2 not what ever you say it is. Fact check has already shown that Clinton's speech was full of bull when it came to numbers.

It's like this is all that matters...who ever has the most money wins.

Corporate America. It's not the name of something...it's the order in which things are valued.
