Romney full tax history still a mystery

New York (CNNMoney) - After months of criticism for saying he would release only two years of tax returns, Mitt Romney on Friday put out a report from his accountants about taxes he has paid over 20 years.

But the one-page document left key questions unanswered.

It is a clear-cut Premeditated plan, he knows for the last eight years or so-you want this nation sold out to this idiot? Enough.

I'm an Independent and a Christian and Romney's response just is not good enough. It's not transparent, not enough years, and deceptive. Just not good enough.

My effective tax rate for past 20 years is above Romney's. I am not sure if I made more or less than Romney, as Romney won;t reveal how much he made. Want to know how much I made, first ask Romney how much he made each year!

The GOP and Romney are all anti- working class. They are the taker class.
In Florida there's a Tea Party Congressman, talk about a angry con man.
He gets 2 taxpayer funded pay checks taxpayer paid health care for the rest of his life. Am I jealous not hardly just amazed at how this guy
Talks with total hatred for the government continually yes the Stereotypical angry black man.
And whites love the scammer and his Iraqi interrogation crime.
Some here in Florida call criminal activity heroic...Really!!! If you were fined and forced to retire for illegal activity and received a government pay check because of that inappropriate action. The GOP would consider you a lazy leech. Some politicians have no problem taking from struggling families yet love lining their own pockets. Talk about an Eastman..
The point is down ballot voting matters.

He should cease and desist his campaign because he said that anyone who paid more in taxes should not run for president.
Tax deductions of $4M were cut to $2M so that his tax rate would be 14% instead of the real number which should have been 9% which is even lower than the 13% he said he had been paying in this last few years.
I am sure that after he loses in November they will amend their tax returns to get back that extra $2+ they had to pay. Well, not pay, they owe the money they still haven't paid it and will probably won't until after November 6th.-

People of the United States of America and DNC Operatives,
People, if all of you who are retired, hold Stock,401K etc. and want all your Capital Gains income taxed at a higher rate (30 to 50%)so you can help the country(President Obama) and have less money to live on,go ahead and vote all the Democrats into power. The Argument that Romney pay less Taxes than working people is a false one.The man is Technically "Retired" and lives 95% on Dividend income that has been taxed already once in his salary and he then purchased stock,401K or whatever else he has.The TAX LAW is written to Tax Capital Gain income at a lesser rate than people who are not retired and "WORKING".The other argument that he is hiding money in Swiss Bank and Cayman Island Accounts is Bogus too.He paid taxes already on that income, and with the condition of the banking system today in this country fraud is common,If I had enough money to make it worth while to put in a Swiss or Cayman Account I would. If the Democrats do not like the U.S. Tax Code the way it is CHANGE THE TAX LAW in broad daylight and have "Transparency" so the % of TAX paid by everyone are clear to ,LOW,MIDDLE and HIGH INCOME Earners

He knows if he releases them he will be history. So he will continue to keep his tax returns from the public. I'm a firm beliver in stay out of my business, but when you run for president, your business becomes the country's business. We need to know about you in order to trust you to lead us and we all know now what Romney thinks of the middle class, Latinos, and that he's just a crook.

I believe that all public servants for Federal offices should be required by law to disclose their previous 5 years of their Tax Returns when they run for office. This would have prevented the on going question of Mitt Romney's returns. Ascitizens, when we vote, we don't know if they have foreign investments that could influence or interfere with critical decisions or votes that they would be making. These investments should appear on their tax returns.

Romney claimed that he has never paid below 14 percent in taxes. So with the release of his 2011 taxes (or should we say the release of a sort of summary of his 2011 taxes), the announcement is that he paid that 14 percent.

In any case, it’s a shockingly low rate for someone as wealthy as Romney and, because of his financial setup, he has been able to take advantage of tax loopholes that average people cannot.

But what is most interesting to me about this 2011 return is that Romney gave four million to charity and did not take the deduction. Is this an instance of Mitt willingly giving the government more money than he has to, despite his oft-repeated, “I gave as much as I owed and not a penny more.” So why has he not taken the deduction in this case?

Could it be that he wanted to be able to continue to claim that his tax rate was always 14 percent? If he took the deduction, his rate could have gone down to as low as 10 percent! Oh, my. But not to worry. There is another aspect: many may not be aware that Mitt can forget about claiming the four million—until after the election next year! The tax forms always remind you to take the deductions you forgot to take the year before.

And so it seems that Mitt is trying to pull another slick one. Just as when he angrily retorted during one of the primary debates when confronted with the fact that he had had an illegal working for him as a gardener. He told us very self-righteously that he went to the guy’s boss and “I told him that there was no way I could have an illegal working for me. For heaven’s sake, I’m running for president!”

Mitt more fuel for the fire, pwh letter,
Tax forms please! Mitt you are so out of touch.
This issue about your tax returns will never go away!
Why not just release the tax forms.
    Nobody cares about letters.

Mitt Romney should be told that the Americans are the employer of the American president and deserve to know all about the person they will hire as president for 4 years. It is only in Romney's world that a prospective employee dictates what he should disclose to the employer.

He has not released his taxes. His accountants are releasing notarized "statements". These are NOT THE ACTUAL TAX FORMS. I won't believe Romney if he notarized his tongue. RELEASE THE ACTUAL TAX FORMs!

This information is has clearly taken several months to work out with PWC for whom Romney, Bain and its directors and officers were all clients along with lots of Bain Capital corporate clients.
As many people have pointed out he probabaly got a big salary from Bain which increased his federal income tax liabilty, early years, no doubt converted to Share options later to reduce tax to 15% on the capital gain and dividend income.
Next they/he calmly include other federal taxes like payroll tax etc in the averages gee thx. but us 47 % thats not a federal tax!!
Also, it mentions not the potential IRS forgiveness on Swiss income amnesty undeclared. i suspect he was using this and it is the major reason why he does not disclose individual years.
For 2011 data he and his advosors have conveniently not made final adjustment claims re his charitable contributions which more than likely make his 14.1% less than 13 % yet again.
Romney/ Ryan tax plans? No one challenges that these give the rich an even lower overal federal income tax percentage. With the US debt where it is time for all the rich to anti up to help reduce the debt.
The point is the kind of tax loopholes tax law tax liabilty reducers he can us are generally unavaialble to most in the US.... go try to open aswiss bank account or a caymen islands bank account.... as a US citizen... they are not interested Unless you have millions to deposit.
Romney and PWC are not lying necessarily but for sure they are masaging the facts as over 20 years laws changed in USA, and overseas Tax havens.
Again this attempt a truth only further muddies the waters.. but Reid should change his attack to the overall rate paid in Each year!!

    Dear Mitt –

Your job application remains incomplete. We require 10 years of complete, un-altered federal and state income tax returns along with summaries of all secretive, offshore bank accounts im Grand Cayman, Switzerland etc., BEFORE we can consider you for the position to which you are applying.

Signed – – The American People [aka:The BOSS]

We beilieve you are familiar with is standard as that you provided your last prospective employer [Mr.McCain] with a complete set of records and you DEMANDED a full set from Mr. Ryan.

The employment committee here at USA Inc., has become restive at your reticence; they want to know what you are hiding. They say that if you paid rates higher than the CAPITAL GAINS rate [which was higher a few years ago] that might help your case but we"ve got to SEE the details.

Your "charitable giving is also suspect if it all went to the Mormon Church, Inc. Recommend you not boast about generosity until this question is answered.

Romney just opened up yet another can of worms by not releasing his full and complete tax returns and making this look secretive and mysterious and most certainly creating more questions than answers. One would think that Mitts Romney would be smart enough to know that when he decided seven years ago to run for President that the voting public would want to see his tax returns for 10 years before they could consider him for the highest job in the country. The Romney's just think they are above everyone and can play by thier own rules and change them 47 times a day

Releasing 2011 tax returns that don’t even matter with less than 60 days left till the election? Pure smokescreen on Mitt Romney’s part; what’s insulting about this is Mitt Romney is taking American as fools. What’s even more disparaging is some Americans will not take the time to read, following his every word. Mitt Romney RELEASE YOUR LAST 10 YEARS OF TAXES! What are you hiding? Mitt Romney says, he wants to lead America, but how can he, when he can’t even be honest with America?

WE are the employer and Mr. Romney is interviewing for the job just like any other prospective employee. Just Like Paul "Ryan's not his real last name" had to interview for Romney. HE gave 10 years, at Romney's demand, but Romney won't release his? I've worked in HR some, and this guy would be out on his tush if he tried to pull crap like that....
