Romney, Ryan receive intel briefings

(CNN) – Mitt Romney received his second intelligence briefing Thursday at an office building in Herndon, Virginia, an outer suburb of Washington.

Romney's first briefing came September 17 at an FBI building in Los Angeles, less than one week after criticizing President Barack Obama over the attacks on U.S. diplomatic posts in Egypt and Libya.

Romney's team did not say who in the national intelligence community provided the briefing.

The briefings are a customary measure in the latter stages of a general election campaign for presidential challengers, regardless of which party is in power.

Michael Steel, a spokesman for GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan, confirmed Thursday that Ryan had also received an intelligence briefing, first reported by ABC News, though declined to provide further details.

CNN's Shawna Shepherd, Rachel Streitfeld and Kevin Liptak contributed to this report.

I sure would like to see the look on both of their faces when they get to see the foreign policy madness that confronts this President every single day. Remember that Romney is the same nuckelhead that went on a foreign policy trip two months ago and bungled it so badly he is still reeling from that fiasco. Is there anyone he did not insult on that trip? Him and Ryan keep screaming to high heaven that Obama will not meet with Netanyahu. How do they know Obama is not talking to him? Good old "Bennie" has been manipulating the truth for so long I really doubt he knows what the truth is any more. Romney and Ryan (and the rest of the republican party) are darn fools to believe anything that comes out of his mouth.

Personally, I think briefing both of these guys is an absolute waste of taxpayer's money. They probably don't have the interest or intellect to absorb what the briefers are saying to them. The briefings are either going over their heads or not being absorbed at all. Worse yet, what little they do absorb they will slip up and say in a speech. Both of these guys don't seem to be able to engage brain before putting mouth in gear.

  3. Wake up people!

I'm just wondering how long it will take for one of these yahoos to use this intel to bash the POTUS. Not long, I'm sure, but the best part is it will be over in a little more than a month.

    OBAMA 2012!

Good.......if there is anyone in this country that could use some additional "intelligence"......it's these two guys. They are severely lacking in this area.

Seems zero missed 60% of his briefings. At least the next potus will not have that problem.Doesn't really matter since Valerie Jarret is the defacto potus anyway. Ozero is only good on the golf course, fund raising or campaigning as long as the prompter is up and running. He is an illegal joke.

Romney's foreign policy is visiting his money in the Caymans.

Other than that, his only experience is insulting our closest ally and earning the name "Mitt the Twit."

I am so relieved! I thought those guys were NEVER gonna get an intelligent thought in their heads. So, what's their excuse gonna be now?

I predict that, before the election, W-omney will use this information to out a CIA agent.

Your observation is correct griffbos........Romney is starting to look like he has been rode hard and put away wet. When you compare the way he looked in the primary debates to how he looks today.......he almost doesn't look like the same guy. If this is how hard the campaign impacts him........kind of makes you wonder what the weight of the presidency would do to him if he actually won. I'm afraid he would be outsourcing most of his duties within a very short time......he may even retire retroactively and move on.

Not sure what he would do with it since his standard line is we'll give details after the election. This moron doesn't have a clue on anything except outsourcing jobs overseas!!

"Intelligence briefing"? Really? I would have thought that the collective intelligence of these two couldn't get any briefer.

I know their supposed to get briefings, but maybe they could keep them simple, or use dolls to represent people, they don't think people are real anyway. Tools

It would do Romney/Ryan well to have an "Intel" briefing on why a President represents 100% of Americans and not just 50%. It makes one question, what's the real reason Romney wants to be President knowing he's never answered the "call of duty".

Can someone remind me what experience Obama had in foreign affairs and foreign policy when he was voted into office? That's right he had none. And it shows!

  18. Keeping it Real

Claudia, Houston, Tx "what's the real reason Romney wants to be President knowing he's never answered the "call of duty".

So what you're saying is that you shouldn't vote for Obama either, because he didn't serve? It's fairly obvious that you're one of those liberals that will never hold Obama accountable. Instead, you make foolish standards of others that you will never apply to Obama.

  22. Obama lied about Libya

Obama had all the intel he needed. What did he do? He chose to lie about Libya to make himself look better. He put his own ambitions ahead of the lives that were lost in Libya. He then lied to us all, and kept lying until it he can no longer spin the truth. How can anyone trust this fool?
