Ryan, Biden exchange words over entitlements

Columbus, Ohio (CNN) - With 12 days to go until the only debate between the vice presidential candidates, Rep. Paul Ryan and Joe Biden have stepped up their attacks about one another on the campaign trail.

After Biden made the charge that Mitt Romney’s economic plan could hit seniors with more taxes to their Social Security benefits, the next day Ryan, the Republican vice presidential nominee came to his running mate’s defense.

Latest Iowa poll shows close contest

(CNN) - A new poll of likely voters in Iowa shows the presidential race is locked up between Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama.

The poll follows two others released in the last two weeks, one showing Obama with a slight advantage within the survey's sampling error, and another that put his advantage just outside of the sampling error.

Ryan to roll through Iowa ahead of debate

(CNN) - Ahead of Wednesday's debate between President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney, GOP vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan will roll through the battleground state of Iowa on a two-day bus tour.

Billed by the Romney-Ryan campaign as the Real Recovery Bus Tour, Ryan will make stops on Monday and Tuesday in Dubuque and Clinton along the state's eastern border.

(CNN) - With 38 days remaining until Election Day, Mitt Romney was off the campaign trail Saturday, but kept himself busy in other ways.

The Republican presidential nominee spent the morning in private meetings at his Massachusetts home, said Rick Gorka, Romney campaign traveling press secretary.

Ryan stops in Ohio for some football

Columbus, Ohio (CNN) - About a half an hour after kick-off between Big 10 rivals Ohio State and Michigan State, Rep. Paul Ryan showed up at a sports bar in Columbus to watch the Buckeyes play their rival Spartans in East Lansing, Michigan.

The Republican vice presidential candidate and graduate of Miami University of Ohio, visited Varsity Club, located less than 500 yards from Ohio stadium that claims to have one of the biggest tailgate parties in the country on home games.

Ryan stumps in New Hampshire

Derry, New Hampshire (CNN) - Rep. Paul Ryan held a rally in New Hampshire on Saturday, marking the second visit to the Granite State in two weeks by the Republican vice presidential nominee.

He held a rally in Derry, 15 miles from the border of Massachusetts, which was governed by his running mate, Mitt Romney, from 2003 to 2007.

Obama to hit trail after debate

(CNN) - President Barack Obama will hit the campaign trail following the Wednesday presidential debate, stumping in four states rated on the CNN Electoral Map as toss ups, according to schedules released by his campaign and the White House.

On Thursday, Obama will hold an event in the debate host city – Denver - then continue on to Madison, Wisconsin, to meet with supporters, his campaign said.

Romney hits Obama on foreign policy in weekly podcast

(CNN) - Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Saturday that President Barack Obama is responsible for unrest and chaos in the Middle East, saying the president “doesn’t understand the gravity of the challenges that we face” in the region.

Speaking in his weekly podcast, Romney said that Obama’s 2008 argument for election was that he had the judgment and knowledge of issues to strengthen the economy, improve the country’s moral standing and make the country safer.
