Ann Romney has one concern

(CNN) - Ann Romney said in an interview this week that she has no reservations about her husband's ability to serve as president.

But she does have a small concern about the GOP presidential nominee assuming the top office.

"I think my biggest concern obviously would just be for his mental well-being," Romney said in an interview with Reno, Nevada, CNN affiliate KTVN.

"I have all the confidence in the world in his ability, in his decisiveness, in his leadership skills, in his understanding of the economy, in his understanding of what is missing right now in the economy, the pieces that are missing to get this jump-started," Romney said. "So for me, I think it would just be the emotional part of it."

But Romney's reservation about her husband, Mitt Romney, did not hold her back from encouraging her husband to run for the presidency.

On the campaign trail, both Ann and Mitt Romney often tell a story of how she encouraged her husband to throw his hat in the ring for a second time after his unsuccessful 2008 bid for the Republican nomination.

"I got a camera out and I videotaped myself," she said at an event last month. "I made this videotape and I said I am never doing that again."

"I gave it to Mitt and he looked at it and he said, oh - you know, you say that after every pregnancy," she continued, to laughs.

But the "legacy of debt" the country would leave to her children and grandchildren's generations, she said, was enough for her to encourage Mitt Romney to enter the race again.

And it was enough to encourage her to muscle through the vitriol of a campaign, which she said is "always part of the package."

"It is not easy on the wives, the children, the family and the friends because you see someone that you loved, being maligned, lied about, mistreated, abused, criticized," she said. "And by the way, every person that you know is always giving them advice on what they should do and say."

When her husband is wound up, she can have “a very calming influence on him,” Ann Romney told CNN Chief Political Analyst Gloria Borger in an interview this summer.

But overall, her husband is calm and confident, she said.

"I think where it goes to is this internal sense of self, where he's very confident in who he is," she in an interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan. "But he also knows that as president, he's going to be doing things that may not always be understood, but they're going to be always the right thing, what he believes is the right thing for the country."

Mitt Romney will be a far better president than Obama. Obama is so terrible, he should be impeached for lying to the American public about the attack that killed our Libyan Ambassador and the three Navy Seals guarding him. Obama needs to go!

Ann,concerened about "HIS MENTAL WELL BEING"?That's a big sounding alarm to me,especially, considering the way he "has tendency of making statements without first thinking through";that notable stiffness, and the tantrums.EVERYBODY SHOULD BE CONCERNED.Yes!I said, everybody.ANN SEEMS TO KNOW SOMETHING NO OTHER PERSON KNOWS.

Listen little Aqua-Barbie, it'll be a long cold day in hell before anything you and your Ken-doll husband do or say that is too complicated for me to see right through. You don't have the capacity to amuse me, let alone insult my intelligence. Save your condescending garbage for the GOP.

If Mitt is elected, I think Ann should be concerned that he will insist on modifying Air Force One so that he can open the windows.

I can certainly empathize with the Cosmoromney about this one. Heck, I already worry about his mental landscape. I believe, however, that he is doing this country a great service in his candidacy. There will, of course, always be hysterical right wing tools with their heads WAAAAAY up their limbaughs, it seems to me we are seeing a large group of republicans who fioally see through the fog that has clouded their actions and policies of late. Hopefully the errors will be recognized, the deceptions and mendacities tempered with clearer thinking, and we will have a return to an effective opposition party with better ideas, and a renewed interest in putting our efforts into dealing with our problems as our founding fathers had hoped. If Romney actually has the best interests of our country at heart and not some ego driven desire for an address in the 1600's of Pennsylvania Avenue we may see a speech from him on election night after President Obama has won that acknowledges this, and attempts to inject some sanity into what has become a sad and pointlessly combative political terrain. I know, what have I been smokin' right? One can only hope.

  11. ThinkAgain: Hey, networks, fact-check the debates in real-time and put it in the crawl!

His "mental well-being"?!? Is he so on the brink just running for office that the prospect of him being there (gag, and God forbid!) would put undo strain on him and cause him to crack?!?

    These Romney folks are bizarre!

Keep "President" Romney away from the nuclear football (also known as the atomic football, the president's emergency satchel, the button, the black box, or just the football).

Excuse me Mrs. Romney, but a whole lot of people love President Obama and he is "being malighed, lied about, mistreated, abused, and criticized" every day by your husband and his running mate and HE doesn't deserve it!!!! Take a lesson or two from our First Lady and GET OVER IT!! IF YOU CAN'T STAND THE HEAT..........

It appears that this is all "too hard" and Queen Ann is sick of "you people" and wants to take her toys and go home. Can anyone image Laura Bush or Hillary Clinton saying that their greatest fear would be for their husband's mental well being should he win? By the way, their husbands did not refuse to release their medical records. No, a note from an alleged physician saying that you are okie dokie isn't a release of your medical records as we all know that for enough money you can find a doctor who say or prescibe anything. What is Romney hiding?

He'll do what he believes is right for the country. The top 2% will have it made if he was the POTUS.

If Ann cared about us she would have talked Mitt out of running and the Romneys would have spent their money trying to improve the living conditions of penguins.

Wow if the person most close to Mr. Romney is fearful for his mental health if he becomes President, that is quite scary! The pressure will be immense! He is thus not up to the job!

A good republican is what its going to take to repair this economy A conservative is what is needed fiscal responsibility is key you Spend lots of money to make money government agences need to be responsible for supply and inventory and held accountable i have seen first hand in military occupation how eccess quarterly inventory is regularly liquidated at the end of the quarter so that is no exess to report to keep there budget, taxpayers pay for this unprductive use of supplies and it sounds trivial but it can add up to even perhapes millions this is and exepted practice wastful and not fair to taxpayes who pay the bills government spending i over the top and conservative responsibily can result in less spending

WHat about when she hear's her husband lying after being a supposed minister in the "magic underpants religion"? What does she think about his dodging military service? Does she share his belief about 47% never taking responsibility for their lives?

How does she reconcile his lack of concrete belief on almost anything as evidenced by him changing what he says depending on who the audience is? How does she feel about everyone else having to clarify what comes out of his mouth?
