(CNN) – GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan acknowledged the Republican campaign's "missteps" on Sunday, calling Mitt Romney’s now-notorious “47%” comments “inarticulate,” while still defending the crux of his running mate’s argument.
Ryan also took the media to task for what he called bias against conservatives.

Appearing on “Fox News Sunday,” Ryan said his running mate’s controversial comments were "an inarticulate way to describe what we’re trying to do to create prosperity and upward mobility, and reduce dependency by getting people off welfare, back to work.”
“We've had some missteps," said Ryan, also noting many conservatives' concerns that the campaign is failing to project a clear message to voters. "But at the end of the day, the choice is really clear, and we're giving people a very clear choice."
Romney made the candid "47%" remarks to a group of wealthy donors at a private fund-raiser caught on a secretly recorded video in May. The video was posted online by a left-leaning news organization earlier in September, sparking a firestorm of criticism from both sides of the aisle. Among other hotly contested remarks, the Republican nominee said nearly half of Americans will automatically vote for the president because they are dependent on government and consider themselves “victims.”
Ryan noted that Romney had conceded the lack of "eloquence" in his choice of words, though Ryan also picked up on the argument, blaming Obama for a sluggish economy and what the GOP campaign bills as policies that foster dependency on government.
Ryan also accused the media of having a liberal disposition.
“I think it kind of goes without saying that there's definitely a media bias. We've - look, I'm a conservative person, I'm used to media bias. We expected media bias going into this,” said Ryan.
Asked to cite a specific example of media bias, Ryan demurred, instead asserting that most people who work in the media have liberal political affiliations and, therefore, would want a president who is a Democrat to win.
“I'm not going to go into a tit-for-tat or litigate this thing,” said Ryan. “But as a conservative, I've long believed and long felt that there is inherent media bias. And I think anybody with objectivity would believe that that's the case.”
Why don't he just be honest and tell the American People they don't have a clue and will blame anything or anyone because their losing.......
"You betcha' ... vote Romney/Ryan !......Clear, concise ....in answer to WhereisPalin
WAHHH! WAHHH! I can't vote for whiners.
Blaming the media – the ultimate conservative WHINE.
I am so sick of these guys pretending that a great conspiracy against the right is under way. It's the most ridiculous, juvenile waste of time at a time when there is not a second to waste. Just who buys into this? How desperate are they that they are resorting to this craziness??? I guess this is the official death knell of the Republican Party.
Poor Paul Ryan. He reminds me of the late Jack Kemp desperately and disingenuosly trying to defend his bumbling running rate, Bob Dole, late in the 1996 election. And we all know how that one turned out . . .
For a candidate that has a 24 hour TV Network (Faux news) and all of AM radio shilling for him night and day to claim bias is pretty audacious even a punk like Ryan. tell it to Ayn rand Paulie.
Biased?...just take a good look at faux news. This tabloid operation is not news...its infotainment. Clear concise babble. Fair and balanced crap. Most staff on that network all have degrees in bovine scatology. some are very proficient in waste flinging. There's no truth to faux news..its all propaganda...if the nazis had this kind of set up in the last century..they might just have won the war.
Sounds like the typical Republican response. Remember Sarah Palin? They don't know when to shut up and once the damage is done, the media is biased. Just shut up and stop lying already and they will leave you alone !!
"But at the end of the day, the choice is really clear," says Ryan, " and we're giving people a very clear choice."
But when asked on Fox News this morning which specific tax loophole he and Romney would close, he said the "math was too complicated" and he "didn't have time to explain them."
Clear choice my eye.
The only reason there may be a liberal media bias is because those in the media are more likely to be educated and have a propensity to use their brains, research, and think.
There is no media bias except if you want to name FOX, but even they are turning on Romney and predicting him to lose the election now. The reason Romney and Ryan are losing is they are extreme, arrogant, know nothing on the issues, have notgiven a single detail of what "their"plan is for anything, have lied so much nothing they say can be trusted, and are just not Presidential materal and never were. We are better off than 4 years ago and we have President Obama who has worked non-stop for We the People and we are seeing the nation turning around. We have a real leader who puts People over corporations and that is all we need to know in re-electing him.
When the going gets tough for Republican candidates, they sure are consistent in playing their trump card of blaming the liberal biased media.
Cry me a river, little boy. The Republicans brought this on themselves when they caved to their lunatic fringe.
"Asked to cite a specific example of media bias, Ryan demurred". Boy, that says it all, doesn't it?
Pathetic excuse for being held accountable for what you say.
Definition of media bias (from the republican talking points, aka Faux News). Media bias is when someone does not agree with us and states this in a public ways such as through a news agency or website.
I'm so tired of the "liberal bias" crap. Especially when it comes from a Repub on FNC. What a joke, these guys barely get any hard question from their friends there. Hannity gives Romney a back rub during interviews.
Yes, the GOP has given voters a clear choice, and I want to thank them for making it clear that Obama is the clear choice.
Of COURSE the media's biased. After all, they chose to report the video without editing or taking anything out of context. Those dastardly liberals!
Ryan, you're an adherent of Ayn Rand, so obviously in your mindset everything Romney said is valid. 47% of the country is trying to keep the majority enslaved through false morality and government handouts, we get that. The problem is, as with Objectivism, reality doesn't match your vision. The majority of people on government handouts are not the welfare queens your other hero, Reagan, portrayed. They are the elderly, many of whom are incapable of doing further work; those actively looking for jobs but who can't take entry-level blue collar jobs because the wages won't support a family and who can't find gainful employment because there is none; and those taking out student loans to go to school so they can get the education and training needed to become self-sufficient. That's what you and Romney and your conservative/TP allies can't and never will understand
Romney/Ryan have made my choice very.... Clear, concise.... OBAMA!!!!!
Romney was right, though. Obama has successfully sought to increase individual reliance on government, and those very people now have a vested interest in continuing that reliance.
Missteps...inarticulate...lack of eloquence...the message is clear...Romney/Ryan is just wrong for America...not matter what Fox News Channel(which is not news, but entertainment concerning politics for some)says.
I'm so sick and tired of the Republicans cry-baby stance and whining about "liberal media bias." Grow up already! In their delusional bubble, anyone but Fox is "the enemy" and part of that "liberal media bias." Do they really think we're that stupid, or do they realize that the only ones believing their load of bull is their rabid base who rely solely on Fox for their "news"? They have no way to defend video tape of themselves saying and doing things that are costing them the election. They have no one to BLAME but themselves! They are victims of their own schemes, their past actions, their current statements, and they are a hopeless bunch who already know they won't win in November because the vast MAJORITY of Americans don't align themselves with their 15th century mentality!
Media bias? That's the LOSER'S last resort.
