Obama to announce Cesar Chavez monument, send message to Latinos
(CNN) - President Obama will make modern history Monday when he announces the creation of a monument to honor Cesar Chavez, as he works to energize Latino voters less than a month before the presidential election.
The Cesar E. Chavez National Monument will become the 398th park in the National Park Service system, and the first since the 1700s to honor a Latino, the park service told CNN.

Isn't that nice... a monument with our tax dollars. Although greatly deserved I think that the Latino and American public would rather spend the money where it counts and that is creating jobs not monuments right now. Stop trying to buy the Hispanic vote and work for it. Amazing how politicians only remember the "Latinos" when they come up for re-election!!!
For those that call Obama a Soalist, you are right. Maybe Curley, Larry, Moe, and Shemp will also have a Monument.What we really need is another 5 Trillion in debt.

Latino's are remembered everyday when Border Patrol is out in "full force" looking for them. Questioning there legal status of residence in the U.S . And believe me, here in Arizona, Gov Brewer will make sure Latino's are not "FORGOTTEN"!
When you consider that Hispanics have been targeted by Republicans, by trying to steal our Right to Vote, by violating our Constitutional Rights, by pulling us over for being Brown. By unfairly targeting Hispanic Americans , for no reason at all . It's one thing after another. If Hispanics don't get out there and Vote, these Racists, will make things much worse for us. Republicans, want Mexican Children that were born here , that don't even speak Spanish, returned and dropped off in Mexico !!! Republicans are determined to destroy Hispanic Families, any way they can , Why ? We always Vote Democratic. It's time to flex our muscles at the polls and show tea party Republicans, where they can go.
One of these days (Nov 6th) the right wing parrots will figure out that the so-called "failed policies of Obama" have not failed as he is re-elected in a landslide. Hard to get anything done with the Grand Obstructionist Party putting politics ahead of country and picking anything and everything to blame on the POTUS – even the price of gas, and we all know he has full control of that !
And.. Work for the POTUS goes on, regardless of it being an election year. The Chavez memorial is part of his job. Get over it!

Chávez was born in the US and was committed to restricting immigration.
In 1969, Chávez marched to the border of Mexico to protest growers' use of undocumented immigrants.
Chávez and the UFW went so far as to report undocumented immigrants who served as strikebreaking replacements.
In 1973, Chávez set up a "wet line" along the United States-Mexico border to prevent Mexican immigrants from entering the United States illegally. During one such event UFW members attacked the strikebreakers, after attempts to peacefully persuade them not to cross the border failed.
In typical Obama way this is nothing more than a well calculated move to win the Latino vote.
Why doesn't Obama just cut to the chase and promise to pay everybody $1,000 each for their votes in November. It is essentially what he has been doing for the last 1.5 years with our tax dollars.
